The Janitor is a critical role within our communities as it impacts the lives of residents and ignites the warmth of human connection.
As a Janitor your typical day will impact the following ways:

Clean snow and ice from entrances, walkways, and parking areas.
-
Provide plant care / watering.
-
Maintain sidewalk cleanliness using a blower.
-
Perform garbage pick-up per assigned schedule.
-
Ensure proper lighting and maintenance (e.g., light bulb changing) in the facility
-
Provide proper plumbing care (i.e. toilette repair / plunging).
-
Keep shelves stacked with supplies.
-
Floor polishing or buffing and carpet spot cleaning.
-
Providing housekeeping services in the resident care rooms and common areas in accordance with the established work routines.
-
Providing personal laundry services for care residents in accordance with established work routines.
-
Ensuring residents are provided with a secure living environment. This includes patrolling the building and investigating any building access violations in accordance with established policies and procedures.

Performing other duties as assigned.
Must haves:
-
Successful completion of secondary school or equivalent.
-
Building Service Worker Certificate, Institutional Aide Certificate and/or Basic Food Safe Certificate.

All applicants must successfully pass the prescribed Vulnerable Sector Check. Applicable to Ontario applicants.

All applicants must successfully pass the prescribed Criminal Records Check. Applicable to British Columbia applicants.
