Long-Term Care Assistant Opportunity
Temporary Full-Time 80 Hours - Aug 3, 2025 - March 31, 2025
Hillside Pines is a person-first long-term care home on the beautiful South Shore of Nova Scotia. Nestled in the heart of Bridgewater, we offer opportunities for meaningful work as part of a team creating the future of long-term care.
If you are passionate about contributing to a positive, person-first community we currently have two temporary part-time postings for Long-Term Care Assistant.
Position Summary**:**
The Long-term Care Assistant is responsible for assisting with the delivery of leisure/therapeutic recreation that enhance the quality of life for all Elders living at Hillside Pines.
Qualifications:
- Have a keen interest in working with a senior population in long term care.
- Able to work as part of a collaborative, multidisciplinary team.
- Demonstrated flexibility, creativity, and time management skills.
- Must have reliable transportation.
- Willing to learn and work independently when trained.
- Strong interpersonal skills, including active listening, empathy; effective oral and written communication.
- Comfortable with Microsoft Office Suite, Zoom, iPads, and any software or equipment aimed at enhancing the life of elders.
- Understanding and commitment to Hillside Pines’ Mission, Vision, Values, and the Eden Alternative philosophy to provide quality care and service to Elders.
Hours of Work:
Includes evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed to meet the wellbeing needs of Elders.
