A large and complex organization, eHealth is comprised of 30+ clinical and non-clinical program (service) areas that all work together to support health care providers and teams across the province in delivering the best possible care to patients, providers, citizens, and health system users. Programs range from primary care to acute care, and includes laboratories, pharmaceuticals and diagnostics. Additional programs that also support patient care and information, include Virtual Care, the MySaskHealthRecord, and the Provincial Electronic Health Record. eHealth is also responsible for the administration of various pieces of legislation to manage the registration of/changes to all vital event records (e.g. birth, marriage, death, etc.), registration of legal name changes, registration of adoptions, and for maintaining the provincial health registry for health services eligibility and distribution of health services cards.
The eHealth teams engage directly with health system partners and other stakeholders both provincially and federally to ensure all services are delivered efficiently and effectively.
About the Role:
Reporting to the Manager, Operational Technology Services, eHealth Saskatchewan is seeking a self-motivated, technically savvy, and strategic leader to join our team as the Business Planner, Operational Technology Services. This role provides strategic planning to management within the Operational Technology portfolio to ensure the services they provide fit with the overall strategic direction of eHealth Saskatchewan and meet or exceed associated business requirements.

The successful candidate will possess exceptional written and verbal communication skills and thrive in a dynamic, fast paced and technology driven environment. Proven experience and skills in effective communication, leadership, problem solving, documentation standards, and a rigor for change management protocols and quality control are also required.
The type of work will vary day to day but will revolve primarily around overseeing the strategic planning process for all project work related to the departments portfolio, working with internal and external teams across the province, and facilitating the development or strategies, plans, roadmaps and business cases in collaboration with eHealth and its partners.
Specific Responsibilities Include:
- Strategic planning and coordination of long-term department vision, including managing all aspects of the planning cycle, including feasibility evaluations, analysis, strategic use of human resources, and budget preparations
- Coordination of project, priorities and deliverables across the Operational Technology Team
- Understanding of interdependencies across our department and how to best align work and resources in conjunction with eHealth and health system priorities
- Creating and packaging documentation, presentations, information and decision items for various audiences
- Coordination and support for business process improvement initiatives
- Coordination of the development and implementation of metrics and KPI’s for department

Superior communication, problem-solving, accountability, systems management skills, and a solid track record in initiating and supporting collaborative work and innovation solutions

Knowledge of public sector budgeting, forecasting, accountability, and decision-making processes

Understanding how to advance the strategic and corporate work of the organization and the goals of government overall

Change agent with a proven track record in leading dynamic and diverse teams through provincial wide changes and times of uncertainty

Ability to navigate and build strong relationships in a large, complex multi-enterprise environment

Ability to think critically and view issues and challenges from multiple perspectives

Ability to monitor processes, identify gaps, and document and implement process improvements

Customer focused approach and good analytical and problem-solving skills
Experience and Qualifications:

Post-secondary degree/diploma in Business, Computer Science, Engineering, or related equivalent, or related professional designation and certifications from an accredited institution.

Have 1-3 years of progressive experience in business planning, facilitating groups, and planning large initiatives.

An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
-
A Project Management Certification from an accredited institution would be an asset.

Advanced computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).

Strong leadership skills, writing, and presentational skills.

Strong understanding of budgets, forecasting, and business case financials.
