Job Description
Reports to the Clinical Manager of the Functional Enhancement Unit, Complex Continuing Care, and Reactivation Care Centre. You will provide Recreation Therapy assessments, group interventions, 1:1 interventions, and community integration to all patients within the program. You will also support cross coverage to other units within the organization.
Qualifications

Completion of a university degree in Therapeutic Recreation or Recreation & Leisure Studies with a therapeutic Recreation option or a related field – or a combination of education, training and experience deemed equivalent.

Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS) certification preferred. Registered Therapeutic Recreation Ontario (R/TRO) members will be considered.

Must be a member of the Canadian Therapeutic Recreation Association (CTRA) or Therapeutic Recreation Ontario (TRO)

Minimum of 1-2 years experience working in a healthcare facility
-
Experience working with elderly people
-
Experience working with people post-stroke
-
Experience with people recovering from a fracture
-
Experience working with persons with cognitive and/or behavioural challenges
-
Experience in developing and conducting group and 1:1 programs
-
Excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills
-
Familiarity with community resources and demonstrated ability to work well with community partners
-
Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
-
Computer proficiency
-
Excellent attendance, punctuality, and work record
-
Ability to perform physical requirements of the job

Travel between and work at all Osler sites as operationally required
Additional Information
Hours: Currently Days, 8 hour shifts, including weekends and statutory holidays (subject to change in accordance with operational requirements)
