About This Opportunity
The Manager, National Security is primarily responsible for the physical security execution and strategy for Coke Canada Bottling’s facilities, assets and employees, collective bargaining contingency planning, assisting Human Resources with investigations and the retrieval of company assets from customer and former customer locations. Reporting to the Director, Health Safety Security and Environment, the Manager, National Security works closely with business partners across all Operating Units to provide guidance and recommendations regarding all aspects of security and has one direct report.
Responsibilities
- Establish and monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to measure and enhance performance related to security conformity within all sites
- Recommend and implement security solutions based on analysis of issues and implications for the business
- Identify emerging security issues and trends to inform decision-making
- Provide technical advice to management on all security related issues which may impact business operations. Provide periodic updates on security performance to management as requested.
- Support corporate security initiatives and provide necessary resources to implement as required.
- Maintain security practices that ensure compliance with company, regulatory, legal and ethical policies and requirements
- Develop and implement policies and procedures for corporate security
- Ensure effective execution of the physical security and protection programs, policies and practices, including the conduct of security audits
- Conduct thorough, unbiased and timely investigations, including review of CCTV (closed-circuit television)
- Ensure proper procedures are followed to preserve evidence and maintain confidentiality
- Clearly communicate findings with all interested parties, produce clear summaries of actions taken and provide recommendations for further investigation
- Assist Security Specialist with ensuring all security equipment and systems are operating in accordance with operating procedures and escalate all problems/issues to management
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or Equivalent work experience is required, with courses in law enforcement or relevant field preferred
- At least 5 years experience in an investigative/analytical role either in law enforcement or another discipline that involves the investigation of casework and the assembly of information/evidence to prove a case in court or justify a recommendation or other outcome
- Member in good standing of ASIS and CANASA preferred.
- Experience with implementation, operation and support of electronic access control and surveillance systems
- Strong knowledge of investigative practices, methods and enforcement strategies
- Familiar with the protocols for collecting, handling, and passing on evidence
- Experience in employee and labour relations
- Experience in contingency measures and procedures
- Experience in presenting or delivering presentations, training programs, and communicating findings
- Administrative skills: proficiency with IT tools, Words, Excel, Outlook and ability to complete and create forms, reports, and logs
- Ability to handle multiple projects and assignments concurrently
- Ability to handle sensitive information while maintaining confidentiality
- Strong analytical skills as well as good interview, interrogation and investigation techniques and skills;
- Ability to show initiative, good judgment and resourcefulness
