Salary Range

$58,304 annually (with wage increments to a max of $65,630 annually). Salary and wage increments are in accordance to the Collective Agreement.

The Opportunity

You bring a passion for enhancing the experience of students working in a lab setting. You have a drive to have the best technical, procedural, and logistical daily operational support in the development and utilization of lab and simulation resources to students and faculty for the Faculty of Health Sciences programs. Your day will consist of working in the Simulation Laboratories, Simulation Suites, Home Health Labs and Therapeutic Communication Suites.

WHAT IT TAKES

  • Bachelor’s degree in a health, technology, communications or other related field at an accredited, post-secondary institution;
  • Minimum three years of related work experience in a health-care related environment in a clinical healthcare setting and/or simulation laboratory setting in an education institution;
  • Certified Healthcare Simulation Operations Specialist (CHSOS) or Certified Healthcare Simulation Educator (CHSE) certification preferred; or certification within the first 12 months of hire;
  • An equivalent combination of related education, training and experience may be considered.
  • Knowledge and comprehension of clinical/medical terminology and lab processes is essential
  • Experience operating a variety of simulation equipment, including patient simulators, task trainers, medical/healthcare related equipment and technology is essential;
  • Experience working in post-secondary education, with students and/or adult learners preferred.

Additional Information

  • This regular full- time, regular position is available starting October 1, 2025.

  • Hours of work will typically be Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 3:30pm or 8:30am to 4:00pm.

  • After the probationary period, there imay also be an option to work a modified schedule subject to the terms of the College’s policies, where you would work either 7:45am-4:00pm or 8:15am-4:30pm each day and have one day off every two weeks. There may also be a 9:45am-6:00pm shift added at a later date in the future.

  • Shift days and times may change depending on the Department’s need.

  • Occasional evening and/or weekend work may be required.

  • The position is located at the Coquitlam campus and will be required to work at all Douglas College campuses and offsite locations,
