The Basic Gist:
Rapscallion & Co. is the reinvention of two of our previous restaurant/bar concepts from the downtown Hamilton area, Rapscallion Rogue Eatery & Two Black Sheep.
Rapscallion & Co. features an ever-changing & elevated menu focused on sharing plates & providing a "nose-to-tail" dining experience. We are looking to bring on some line cooks to be a part of our amazing team.
What’s An “Other Bird”?
The Other Bird is a hospitality family that currently includes The Mule and Rapscallion & Co. (Hamilton, ON), The Mule-Port Dover (Port Dover, ON), The Mule - London and The Mule - Cambridge (Cambridge, ON).
We are a young, growing, and fun-loving company that believes in providing amazing culinary and service experiences.
Duties and Responsibilities Include:
- Working assigned line positions, in a competent and confident manner.
- Cohesively working with the entire BOH team.
- Performing all assigned duties as required, including prep responsibilities, daily station setup & takedown, deep clean requirements, etc.
- Maintaining a clean & safe work environment at all times.
- Assisting with prep list development, product ordering, inventory control as needed.
- Maintaining a positive and committed “Do Whatever It Takes” attitude.
- Receiving direction from Rapscallion & Co.'s Chef de Cuisine & Sous Chefs.
What we are looking for:
- 2+ years of Line Cook experience in restaurant kitchens is required.
- Evenings & Weekend availability are required.
- Valid Food Handler's Certification will be an asset.
And if you…
- Possess basic knife skills .
- Have familiarity with recipe formats and measurements.
- Have a willingness to take direction and follow instructions.
- Are able to manage time effectively, and complete tasks in realistic time frames.
- Are able to communicate calmly and effectively with both team members and management.
- Have a positive, outgoing, and confident attitude.
- Have a passion for food & working in the restaurant industry,
- Believe that successful cooks don’t know more, they do more, and aspire to develop & grow in your culinary career...
