Job Description:
Responsible for the execution of daily food production for the Taste of Asia and Chef's Choice areas of Marketplace Food Court. Preparing meats, vegetables, noodles, rice and garnishes for the above station, as well as, providing excellent counter service to customers while maintaining hygienic facilities and safety standards.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Checks weekly and daily menus for required meal production;
- Works closely with Executive Chef to stay within budget and to ensure recipe accuracy;
- Keeps Chef informed of any missing menu or inventory items;
- Presents food for, service according to established standards;
- Evaluates the quality of raw food and ensures the quality of the finished product;
- Sets up main course and Taste of Asia stations with approved garnishes and utensils;
- Prepares menu items as ordered by customers and ensures the accurate identification of same;
- Ensures proper temperatures are maintained throughout the shift for hot and cold foods;
- Ensures all food items are properly stored during the shift;
- Maintains cleanliness of equipment throughout the shift;
- Maintains quality in advanced preparation by proper use of vacuum packaging and date labeling;
- Replenishes menu items as required and maintain proper presentation.
- Maintains proper safety and sanitation standards.
Required Qualifications:
- Secondary School (Grade 12) diploma;
- Minimum 1 year experience in a high volume food service related industry;
- Strong organizational skills and ability to multi task;
- Ability to work independently and/or in a team atmosphere;
- Ability to work effectively under pressure;
- Ability of providing speedy, efficient, courteous and tactful service;
- Ability to lift, bend, push, pull.
Additional Information:
- Vacancy is for P20320 (Appendix D/Temporary assignment)
- This position is paid at Payband B (Full Time Support) and has an annual layoff of up to two (2) months.
Scheduled Weekly Hours:
Monday - Friday: 7:00AM - 3:30PM (40 hours)
