Come and join us — where payments meet purpose! | What we are looking for The Senior Specialist, Event Engagement and Partnerships plays a key role in the success of The Payments Canada SUMMIT, our premier annual conference that brings together the payment ecosystem to unlock the future of payments.

With a proven track record in building business relationships and a comprehensive understanding of the payment ecosystem as well as Payments Canada’s role within it, you will strategically engage with both current and new audiences to develop meaningful business relationships for the success of The SUMMIT. As an ambassador for Payments Canada, your commitment to The SUMMIT’s success extends beyond the event itself, recognizing the long-term value of year-long partnerships to advance our goals.

| A day in the life Your responsibilities as the Senior Specialist, Event Engagement and Partnership will include but are not limited to:

Planning And Execution

  • Develop and implement the Sponsorship Engagement and Retention Strategy and Delegate Engagement Plan aligned with event timelines.
  • Contribute to achieving sponsorship and registration sales targets for The SUMMIT through proactive outreach and relationship-building, including leveraging LinkedIn Sales Navigator.

Sponsorship And Partnership Management

  • Identify and secure new partnership opportunities to enhance event growth.
  • Design tailored sponsorship packages in collaboration with sponsors, ensuring contracts are managed, tracked and fulfilled.
  • Collaborate with vendors to enhance the overall delegate and sponsor experience.
  • Support event logistics, including delegate/speaker relations and web/application management, while providing on-site support during the event.

Delegate Sales And Engagement

  • Conduct outreach calls and maintain ongoing communication to boost event registration amongst delegates and support event growth.
  • Managing and leveraging the event email inbox and levering other Payments Canada external outreach initiatives for your objectives.
  • Managing and tracking group registrations; creating promo codes for groups; responding to delegate inquiries.

Sponsored Speaker Engagement And Support

  • Tracking speaker contact information, bios, headshots, AV requirements and other deliverables.
  • Adding new speakers and sessions to the website.
  • Assisting with speaker inquiries pertaining to logistics.
  • Assisting on speaker prep calls as required (to provide logistical details).

Alignment And Reporting

  • Ensure sponsorship and outreach activities align with corporate objectives, leveraging external initiatives.
  • Track, monitor, and report on sponsorship activities with monthly updates against targets.
  • Maintain a sales dashboard to ensure targets are on track.

| What you need to be successful

  • Undergraduate degree or college diploma in business, communications, sales, marketing or a related field
  • Minimum of five (5) years of progressive experience in a corporate sales environment, partnership management or business development
  • Relationship management: strong interpersonal skills with a proven ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse audiences, including sponsors and delegates.
  • Technical proficiency with generating reports and conducting analysis on data from a range of systems, including CRM (Salesforce, Hubspot) G Suite (including Looker Studio), Bizzabo, LinkedIn Sales Navigator
  • Analytical skills to track, generate reports and analyze data on sponsorship activities and sales performance against targets.
  • Flexible to work evenings and weekends as needed during events.
  • Eligibility to successfully complete background checks that will be carried out by Payments Canada, including criminal, credit, identity, employment, and education checks.

  • Knowledge of the financial sector/payment ecosystem is considered an asset
  • Experience in event sales and/or coordination is considered an asset
  • Bilingualism (English and French) is considered an asset.

| Salary range

  • Based on qualifications and experience: $93,637 to $117,046.
