About the role

Description

Our Federal Government client is leading an enterprise desktop solution (EDS) project to establish a scalable service and operating model that will transform service delivery and offer improved user experience and productivity through a Digital workspace toolkit assigned to each GC worker, based on their persona, not their department

The focus of this project is to develop an Enterprise Desktop Service model (EDS) which will encompass standardized desktop engineering, IT asset management and support services that can be leveraged across all departments.

This reimagining also includes updating how IT desktop support is accessed and delivered. The client will introduce self-serve and improved automation through the application of AI productivity tools. It will feature a comprehensive support model covering digital asset management, agile procurement, and persona-based user and AI platform support tools.

The solution involves building “toolkits” based on user personas, and ensuring security, accessibility, and compliance with official language requirements.

Project Objectives & Scope

The client requirement for external technical support specifically from BMC, to assist in the configuration of the BMC Helix ITSM tool. Using the materials gathered to date as well as the current Digital Services Operation’s ITSM plan, the contractor(s) will support and assist in the delivery of the following items. This is a multi-phase project.

The Primary Objectives For Phase 1 Are

  • To design/architect and build a Minimum Viable Product (MVP) EDS ITSM solution by December 1, 2025
  • To identify requirements and develop the plan for Phase 2

As Part Of Phase 2, The Objectives Are

  • To onboard the client + 1 other department to the EDS solution by March 31, 2026
  • Lift & shift the EDS solution to an enterprise ITSM platform by February 2026

The MVP Will Include The Implementation Of Modules Supporting

  • End user portal
  • Incident management
  • Request management
  • Knowledge management
  • Asset management

Resource Requirements, Tasks & Deliverables

To meet accelerated implementation timelines stated above, the client needs to bring in BMC Helix Specialized Teams to assist in building a minimum viable product (MVP) using JADE’s BMC Helix Instance to develop an EDS Platform and then move it to OYNX to help with Phase 1 of the EDS ITSM Project. Once the Phase 2 plan is developed and resources secured, this contract will be amended to include Phase 2 tasks.

The Project Team Will Use An Iterative And Agile Approach To Architect, Build And Onboard + 1 Additional Partner (client+1) To The Solution. The Client Is Looking For The Following BMC ITSM Professional Services To Support The Project

System Analysts (SA) Level 3– (3 resources)

The Programmers / Analysts will be responsible for the development, testing and rollout of the enterprise desktop service model for the organization and one additional partner (the client+1).

  • Installation and configuration of TSO and Dev Studio in up to three environments, including necessary adapters and modules.
  • Assist with LDAP/RSSO integration and AD Group configuration to provide Grid Permissions.
  • Assist with simple test workflow to test integration between TSO Grid and BMC Helix ITSM and client network AD.
  • Assist with Build Book document that details the installation and configuration steps, and include a chapter outlining an operational guide.
  • Provide product subject matter expertise.
  • Provide application assistance to end-users by troubleshooting and correcting issues, providing knowledge transfer, and reporting to management.
  • Verify system requirements specifications fit into the client technical environment from business requirements.
  • Propose configuration options and recommendations based on the solution and business constraints and limitations.
  • Assist with technical requirements analysis and solution design to address the business requirement.
  • Participate in Joint Application Design sessions (JAD).
  • Assist in developing, documenting, testing and reporting on test strategies, test plans, test cases and expected test results for input into User Acceptance Testing (UAT).

Project Timelines

  • July to December 2025: Plan, design and build MVP (iterative approach)
  • December 2025: Release MVP in PROD and onboard with the client
  • January 2026: Lift and shift EDS solution to ONYX
  • March 31, 2026: Extend solution beyond MVP and complete onboarding of +1 department
