The University of Windsor’s Department of Kinesiology, in the Faculty of Human Kinetics, seeks applications for a tenure-track Teaching Intensive position, at the rank of Assistant Professor, commencing as early as September 1, 2025.
A medium-sized university with a solid reputation in teaching and research, the University of Windsor offers a friendly and supportive environment for both living and learning. The successful candidate will be appointed to the Faculty of Human Kinetics. The Faculty comprises two program areas, namely the Department of Kinesiology and the Division of Athletics and Recreational Services. The Department of Kinesiology offers both undergraduate and graduate degrees with approximately 800 undergraduate and over 80 graduate students. Vibrant research and teaching cultures within Kinesiology facilitate high quality, student-centred learning experiences which are supported by state-of-the-art facilities. At the undergraduate level, students take a variety of courses related to our two programs: Kinesiology and Health Studies or Sport Management and Leadership. Graduate students can complete their program of study in either Kinesiology and Health Studies or Sport Management and Leadership through a thesis or internship route at the Master’s level and in Kinesiology at the Doctoral level. The ideal candidate will hold a PhD in Kinesiology or a related field. This position will predominantly oversee the kinesiology laboratory experiences that will require the candidate to have expertise in the areas of Human & Exercise Physiology (e.g., Body Composition, Heart Rate and Blood Pressure, ECG, Spirometry, Anaerobic Power and Aerobic capacity); Biomechanics & Ergonomics (e.g., Anthropometry, Force Platform Data Analysis, Gait, Model Comparisons, EMG); and Motor Learning & Psychology (e.g., Anxiety, Imagery, Group Dynamics, Reaction and Movement Time, Fitts Law, and Movement Planning).
Proficiency with equipment and software used to measure Body Composition, Blood Pressure, ECG, VO2max, Spirometry, Anaerobic Power, Force, Gait, Kinematics (Motion Capture), EMG, Biofeedback, Fitts Law, and Generic Data Acquisition will be required. Familiarity with and experience using online teaching platforms (e.g., Brightspace, Microsoft Teams, and Microsoft Stream) is highly desired. Certifications or professional designations related to these areas are desirable. First Aid and CPR certifications are mandatory.
The successful candidate will be expected to teach subject content in-person and/or virtually, demonstrate the use of the equipment, collect and analyze data, and provide feedback to students on the aforementioned topics. The successful candidate will also be asked to teach additional courses outside of the laboratory courses, at both the undergraduate and graduate level, and participate in departmental and university service.

Compensation:
The salary range for the rank is outlined in Article A Table A.1 of the current Collective Agreement with the Windsor University Faculty Association. The compensation offered to the successful candidate will take into consideration the existing salary structure.
