About the role

Deputy Director of Operational Services

The Town of Osoyoos is seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our team as the Deputy Director of Operational Services. Located in the southernmost area of the Okanagan Valley, the Town has a growing population of approximately 5600. The Town of Osoyoos is a resort municipality renowned for its water-based activities, orchards, vineyards, and golf courses, as well as its varied landscape, including deserts, mountains, and valleys. Under the direction of the Director of Operational Services, the Deputy Director of Operational Services manages the Operations personnel including the operation, maintenance, repair and construction of transportation, water distribution and treatment, wastewater collection and treatment, stormwater drainage, solid waste landfill and collection, cemetery operations, and airport operations; works collaboratively within the department with regards to fleet management and public works administration; develops, reviews and implements practices and procedures to ensure both the effective and efficient operation of the Department. In the absence of the Director of Operational Services, perform the duties and functions of the Director as required. The position description for the Deputy Director of Operations is attached.

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Minimum seven (7) years’ experience in municipal infrastructure, project management and occupational health and safety including management of a unionized work force

  • Minimum two (2) years’ experience in management of crews in a unionized environment.

  • Diploma in Civil Engineering Technology or related discipline from a recognized education institution (or equivalent combination of education an experience) would be considered an asset

  • EOCP certification in Water Treatment, Water Distribution, Wastewater Collection, and/or Wastewater Treatment would be considered an asset

  • Valid BC Class 5 Driver’s License with air brakes endorsement

The compensation range for this position is $107,480 - $126,477 (exempt 2025 rates). The Town offers a generous benefits package, and is committed to ongoing professional development. Qualified candidates should apply no later than Friday, July 25, 2025 at 4:00 pm.
