Job Summary
We are in urgent need of a new Respirologist to replace our retiring doctor –everything is fully set up and ready to go starting July 2025, with a mix of hospital inpatient consult, level 3 PFT diagnostics, and a fully functional office practice. This is ideal for an experienced respirologist looking for a change in scenery. Located in the beautiful sunny community of White Rock, British Columbia, right next to the beach, with a robust growing community with all the amenities. Peace Arch Hospital is a community hospital in the Fraser Health region.
Services available to support a respirologist include:
- Bronchoscopy suite – no EBUS
- Level 3 pulmonary function lab
- 169 acute care beds
- 8 ICU/CCU beds closed unit cared by Internal medicine
- A fully operational solo-practice outpatient respirology clinic for independent practitioner (taking-over from our retiring respirologist)
- Office space will be available with reasonable rent, mixed complex that is very well maintained.
- Free parking for staff and patients, less than 10 minute drive, door to door, to the hospital
- Thoracic surgery at Surrey Memorial Hospital with 5 busy thoracic surgeons.
- BC Cancer Agency site, Fraser Valley Cancer Centre, adjacent to Surrey Memorial Hospital.
Responsibility of the position:
- Provide respiratory consultation to the hospital for in- and outpatients
- No official on-call requirement, no general internal medicine call
- Takes consults from hospitalist and internists (about 1-5 per week) for inpatients during week days 9-5pm excluding holidays
- Outpatient referrals from ER and community
The ideal candidate for the position will have:
- Fellowship in Respirology with the Royal College of Physicians of Canada
- Eligible for Independent license by the College of Physicians & Surgeons of BC (CPSBC)
- Canadian Permanent Residency or a Canadian citizen
- Strong interpersonal & collaborative skills and be dedicated to service excellence
