About the role
Sensible Heating and Cooling is looking for a Lead Installer and Service Technician to support our growing business needs. This dual-role position is responsible for the installation of HVAC systems and performing diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs on residential and commercial heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical skills, leadership capabilities, and a commitment to quality workmanship and customer satisfaction. We are looking for someone who is going to be a team player with great communication skills and wants to continue to learn and grow as a part of our team.
Key Responsibilities, including but not limited to:
Installation Responsibilities:
- Install HVAC systems including air conditioners, furnaces, heat pumps, boilers, roof-top units, ductwork, thermostats, and related components and more.
- Follow blueprints, design specifications, and manufacturer instructions.
- Measure and cut sheet metal and ducting to size and install according to specifications.
- Ensure all installed systems meet code requirements and company standards.
- Collaborate with team members and contractors on site as needed.
Service & Maintenance Responsibilities:
- Diagnose HVAC system problems and perform repairs on-site.
- Conduct preventative maintenance, tune-ups, and system cleanings.
- Use testing devices to ensure system performance and efficiency.
- Replace or repair defective components such as motors, compressors, thermostats, or electrical parts.
- Provide accurate diagnostics and recommend appropriate solutions to clients.
General Responsibilities:
- Maintain a clean, organized, and stocked service vehicle.
- Complete job reports, inspection forms, and service records accurately and on time.
- Communicate effectively with customers, fellow technicians and other team members.
- Follow safety protocols and company procedures at all times.
- Participate in ongoing training and development programs.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical or trade school preferred.
- 2+ years of HVAC installation and/or service experience (preferred).
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
- Solid understanding of HVAC tools, equipment, and industry best practices.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, work in tight spaces, and operate power tools safely.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
- Must hold a Valid Gas Tech 2 License

- Apprenticeship possibilities for the right candidate
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $25.00-$40.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 24 per week
