RaisaHR is a boutique HR Consultancy. Our client, a 400-person manufacturing company operating in the defense industry, is looking for a Senior Manager, Accounting to join their team in Montreal.

Title: Senior Manager, Accounting and Financial Reporting

Salary range: $135,000-$150,000 base

Location: Montreal, hybrid (2-3 days/week in office)

Language requirements: French and English

Travel requirements: travel to the U.S. required.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes, ensuring the preparation of accurate and timely financial statements.
• Oversee daily general ledger operations, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analysis.
• Support the annual audit process and coordinate with external auditors.
• Manage the consolidation of financial results from multiple entities and currencies, ensuring reporting accuracy and compliance with US GAAP.
• Eliminate intercompany transactions and reconcile intercompany balances.
• Maintain integrity of the chart of accounts mapping between local and group levels, ensuring consistency in internal and external reporting.
• Oversee payroll operations and act as the key liaison for the external payroll provider, ensuring timely processing, compliance with tax laws, and appropriate accounting treatment.
• Contribute to cash planning and treasury management activities.
• Implement automation initiatives, and improve accounting processes and internal controls.
• Coach, mentor and empower the Montreal-based accounting team.

Requirements:

• A CPA License
• 10+ years’ experience in accounting or finance.
• Excellent knowledge of US GAAP or IFRS
• Experience using an ERP system
• Industry experience in manufacturing considered an asset.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and French.
