The Opportunity
Are you a strategic leader with a passion for driving operational excellence, financial accountability, and superior client service? We are seeking a temporary assignment for the Director of Client and Financial Services to oversee delivery of Tier 1 client services, including critical tax revenue and refund processing operations that serve the province. This senior leadership role reports to the Executive Director and plays a key role in shaping operational strategy, optimizing client service delivery and financial processes, and fostering a high-performance team.
The Director of Client and Financial Services is aligned with the ideal roles of Middle Manager Excellence within the Government of Saskatchewan. As a Middle Manager, you will:
- Lead strategy implementation;
- Enable individual work performance;
- Manage teams and relationships;
- Facilitate collaboration; and,
- Manage information and administration.
As the Director of Client and Financial Services, you will be responsible for:
- Provide strategic leadership and oversight for financial processing and client services teams, ensuring compliance with regulations and adherence to the Taxpayer Service Commitments and Standards Code.
- Oversee the administration and processing of the government’s financial streams from various tax programs, refunds and incentives, ensuring funds are accurately recorded, reconciled, and reported in alignment with government accounting and financial regulations.
- Identify opportunities for system enhancement by streamlining tax processing, optimizing account management, and elevating client service support.
- Collaborate with executive leadership to drive strategic innovation through process improvements and technology upgrades.
- Developing a service-oriented culture where high levels of customer service are the norm.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will be an experienced professional who has:
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to guide a team in a dynamic and technical work environment;
- Ability to foster a positive organizational culture by creating an environment of trust, equity, and psychological safety;
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate with diverse teams and stakeholders;
- Ability to understand and integrate diverse perspectives and stakeholder dynamics;
- Demonstrated success in planning, implementing and overseeing projects of varying scales and complexities;
- Ability to strategically plan, adapt to evolving priorities and contribute to the strategic growth of the division;
- Ability to implement innovative approaches to problem solving and program development;
- Ability to foster a client centered approach throughout the team by aligning objectives to ensure delivery of quality client services to citizens; and
- Expertise in government financial policies and tax administration practices.
Typically, the knowledge and experience required to achieve the above is acquired through:
- A combination of formal education in business administration, such as a bachelor's degree in a relevant field, combined with work experience in a similar role;
- Knowledge of government revenue administration, financial services and provincial taxation would be a definite asset;
- Experience using a variety of computer software applications such as Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook); and
- An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
