As a Business Portfolio Representative, you will play a key role in organizing and monitoring short-term rental (STR) regulations in alignment with the City of Calgary's Business Licence Bylaw as well as other assigned portfolios. You will be responsible for establishing and maintaining relationships with short-term rental platforms (i.e., Airbnb, VRBO), supporting policy implementation, and monitoring compliance with evolving municipal regulations. Primary duties include:
- Collaborate with Business Experience leaders to deliver on the priorities of the assigned portfolio, reviews process and procedures, and coordinates the delivery of reports.
- Collect, analyze, and interpret data related to short-term rentals and prepare relevant reports.
- Deliver on assigned business experience portfolio priorities.
- Develop processes and procedures to ensure results are being delivered and Licence Bylaw requirements are met.
- Develop and manage an effective communication strategy to effectively educate both internal and external parties on the assigned business experience portfolio.
- Support the Short-Term Rental Steering Committees and liaise with internal business units and external partners.
- Support the Business Experience Representative (BER) team with training, mentoring and supporting escalations related to portfolio licence categories.
Qualifications
- A completed 2 year certificate/diploma and at least 5 years of customer service experience, with direct public interaction in a regulatory, licencing or business support environment and progressive experience in negotiating agreements, relationship management and engagement. OR;
- A degree in Business Administration, Commerce, Public Policy, Urban Planning, Regulatory Compliance or a related field with at least 4 years of customer service experience, with direct public interaction in a regulatory, licensing, or business support environment and progressive experience in negotiating agreement, relationship management and engagement.
- Previous experience building and fostering relationships with Industry leaders will be considered an asset.
- Experience with changing priorities, monitoring data and maintaining the role of a liaison to internal and external parties.

Workstyle: This position may be eligible to work from home for at least part of the time as one of several flexible work options available to City employees. These arrangements depend on the operational requirements of the role, employee suitability, and are subject to change based on operational needs and corporate direction.

Days of Work: This position typically works a 5 day
