About the role

Casino Floor Manager- Relief/On Call

Reporting to the Casino Shift Manager and Casino Manager, the Floor Manager is responsible for directing and motivating a diverse team of employees to provide outstanding guest and gaming services. You will manage the daily operations by monitoring, evaluating, and ensuring compliance with policies and procedures to uphold gaming integrity. You will perform customer service activities, such as handling inquiries or disputes regarding any gaming activities on the floor. You will also perform supervisory functions, including mentoring, training, and staff discipline.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate significant knowledge in gaming practices, policies, and procedures.
  • Ensure work is accomplished accurately in all aspects.
  • Able to resolve guest issues and concerns with tact and professionalism.
  • Demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to analyze problems systematically, organize information, and identify key factors and key causes in order to generate solutions.
  • Provide guidance and assistance to the other Floor Managers, Casino Shift Managers, and the Casino Manager on matters relating to the various casino departments.
  • Excellent time and priority management. Effectively adapt to tight deadlines, heavy workloads, and sudden or frequent changes in priorities to accomplish goals.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office computer applications.
  • Demonstrates a positive attitude, initiative, adaptability, stress tolerance, and reliability.

Skills

  • Proven experience in supervising teams with a focus on leadership and motivation.
  • Proven time management skills, with an emphasis on reliability and honesty.
  • Ability to lead by example, fostering a positive team environment while driving performance.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to think critically under pressure.
  • Ability to stand/walk/move for long periods without rest and lift objects up to 40lbs required.

Conditions of Employment

Grade 12 diploma required, post-secondary education in hospitality is an asset. The successful candidate will have prior gaming experience and a minimum of three (3) years of management /supervisory experience. A combination of relevant education and experience will be considered. The candidate must apply for, receive, and maintain a Gaming License from the Gaming Policy Enforcement Branch, British Columbia, and must be at least 19 years old to work in the Casino.
