Make an impact with our Enterprise Risk Services Team as a Proposal Specialist in Ottawa. As the Proposal Specialist, you will lead client relationships, coordinate practice management activities, lead business development, procurement and contracting initiatives, support deliverable quality reviews, oversee the practice pipeline, and manage quality assessment reviews with clients. In other words, enable client success! You will be a trusted advisor and actively participate in the proposal management and strategy while co-authoring content for proposals, oral presentations, and other pursuit collateral.

Your key responsibilities:
- Manage the Practice’s procurement and contracting activities
- We expect all our professionals to have relevant certifications and accordingly you will be expected to grow professionally and may be expected to obtain professional security designations
- You may occasionally be expected to work as part of an engagement team and contribute to billable hours and firm revenue
- Manage the Practice’s pipeline and own the business development process and internal meetings
- Facilitate quality assessment reviews with client and coordinate all internal and external steps
- Provide technical writing support for developing proposal content, business development material, and supporting the review and enhancement of client deliverables
- Liaise with clients and team members to facilitate internal file set up, kick-off meetings, and backend support
- Drive the strategic communications process on large, complex and strategically significant proposals
- Research, write and edit standard and customized proposal content
- Project manage the process which includes the coordination of information from contributors and follow-up on action items to achieve a coordinated team effort
- Review final proposal collateral for quality, format and content for adherence to the firm’s brand standards
- Manage multiple proposals and priorities simultaneously
- Act as an Alternate Security Clearance Officer (ASCO) for the Ottawa ERS Team (Lead security inspections for facility, coordinate clearance for team members, handle all security requests/requirements for contracts)
- Manage organizational mailbox
Skills and Experience:
- 1-2 years relevant experience in technical writing, project management and sales capacities with exceptional technical writing and editing skills
- Undergraduate degree required with an ability to understand/ learn and elaborate narratives in risk, technology and finance. This role involves interaction with internal and external clients and professionals nationally and globally.
- Professional competency in the English language is a requirement of this role. Bilingualism in both French and English is considered an asset.
- Possess or ability to attain Government of Canada Security Clearance
- Strong understanding of proposal management and development, and relevant experience with proposals, technical writing, content writing or communications is considered an asset
- Self-motivated and ability to work both independently and as part of an extended proposal team
- Self-motivated, organized, detail-oriented and deadline-driven
- Strong critical thinking, business acumen, and project management skills, with the ability to establish priorities, set and manage schedules, and coordinate multiple projects at one time
- Excellent communication skills with the ability clearly articulate technical concepts (written and orally)
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and cloud-based tools; eager to contribute and take initiative
- Specific experience responding to federal RFPs along with wxperience working with different Federal procurement vehicles (PASS, TSPS, ProServices etc.) is considered an asset
- Knowledge of federal contracting frameworks and the procurement process, and experience in professional services (e.g., accounting, management consulting, legal, etc.) is considered an asset
