About the role
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- To provide major and minor estimates and to sell merchandise actively and aggressively from estimates and quotes.
- Must be strong mathematically.
- Able to read blueprints
- To provide information, assistance, and service to customers in a manner which will promote the sale of merchandise and meet the needs, requirements, and expectations of the customer
- To order merchandise for assigned areas as directed by the Lumber Manager as per Prairie North Co-op policies and procedures.
- Receive lumber and merchandise as directed by the Lumber Manager.
- Merchandise various lumber products in the store and warehouse
- To be familiar with and adhere to Prairie North Co-op policies and procedures including working in a diverse environment.
- To assist the yard clerks with customer service
- To perform other duties from time to time as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Willing to complete or have completed Levels 1, 2 and 3 Estimating Courses at Saskatchewan Polytechnic
- Experience and knowledge of building material products and willing to take additional training
- Valid Sask. Driver’s License.
- Ability to work with co-workers and public.
- Must be able to work a variety of shifts.
- Physical requirements include lifting/carrying 80 lbs.+ loads.
- Must be able to work with computers.
- Must be able to work unsupervised.
