About the Role

The University of Lethbridge is seeking an energetic and engaging individual to join our recruitment team as a Graduate Recruitment Officer (GRO) on a 10-month temporary position. In this outward-facing role, you will promote our graduate programs to prospective students through in-person and virtual events, relationship-building, and personalized advising.

Reporting to the Manager, Student Recruitment, the GRO supports the university’s Strategic Enrolment Management Plan by developing and executing recruitment activities that build awareness, foster connections, and encourage prospective students to see themselves flourishing at ULethbridge. The successful candidate will be a confident communicator, strong storyteller, and relationship builder who can represent the university with professionalism and enthusiasm.

Key Responsibilities

Graduate Student Recruitment & Promotion

  • Represent ULethbridge graduate programs at recruitment fairs, industry events, program information sessions, open houses, and outreach events across Canada.
  • Deliver dynamic presentations and facilitate one-on-one conversations with prospective students, families, and influencers.
  • Initiate and coordinate virtual and in-person graduate recruitment sessions and tours.

Outreach, Advising & Relationship Building

  • Provide advising and support to prospective students regarding admission requirements, program options, and pathways to graduate study.
  • Respond to inquiries with accuracy, warmth, and clarity via email, phone, or video appointments.
  • Foster strong working relationships with faculty and staff across academic departments, as well as with external contacts.
  • Champion the stories of ULethbridge graduate students and alumni, using authentic and inspiring messaging to support recruitment and engagement efforts.

Strategic Engagement & Event Coordination

  • Plan and implement graduate-focused recruitment events both on-campus and virtually.
  • Collaborate with communications and faculty teams to ensure messaging aligns with institutional priorities and showcases the strengths of our graduate offerings.
  • Develop independent travel plans for local and national recruitment, managing logistics and on-the-ground coordination.

Position Qualifications

Required

  • Graduate degree or post-graduate diploma.
  • 0–2 years of experience in a post-secondary or student-facing environment.
  • A valid unrestricted Class 5 Driver’s License with no more than 6 demerits and submission of a motor vehicle record (driver abstract) dated within 3 months of the posting close is required.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of the Canadian post-secondary education system and graduate studies landscape.

Preferred

  • 2+ years of experience in recruitment, advising, outreach, or student services.

  • Familiarity with ULethbridge graduate programs and student experience.

  • Understanding of Strategic Enrolment Management (SEM) principles.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Zoom.

Starting Salary Range (at 1.0 FTE)

$5,291.00 - $5,990.00 monthly

Full Salary Range (at 1.0 FTE)

$5,291.00 - $6,687.00 monthly (AUPE - Grade 12)
