A Member of Parliament's office is a political and administrative workspace that serves as a direct link between the Member of Parliament (MP) and his or her constituents. The office is the main point of contact between the MP and the citizens of his or her constituency. It offers a range of services to the public, including:
- Assistance with federal issues (employment insurance, pensions, immigration, etc.).
- Support for community organisations.
- Receiving requests for sponsorship or letters of support.
- Organising local events and public consultations.
- Following up local concerns with the federal government.
Job Description
The office of Joël Godin, conservative Member of Parliament (MP) for Portneuf-Jacques-Cartier, is seeking a Senior Advisor for his constituency office who will be responsible for the overall management of the office.
In this position, you will be a key operational strategist who advances and facilitates the achievement of the MP's key objectives and priorities through outreach, communications, sponsorship, event planning and other strategic activities.
The ideal candidate possess strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a dynamic team. The incumbent is recognized for his or her leadership, loyalty and dedication.
The incumbent may be required to travel and occasionally work long hours and some weekends.
Primary responsibilities:
- Management of schedule and travel: Planning the MP's meetings, events and travel, while ensuring that his schedule is constantly updated.
- Administrative support and coordination: Provide operational support to the MP and his team, manage correspondence, organise daily tasks and ensure compliance with House of Commons rules.
- Internal and external communications: Liaising between the MP, his staff and external stakeholders, as well as representing the MP at public events.
- Community relations: Developing and maintaining links with citizens, local organisations, businesses and community leaders.
- Media monitoring and communications: Carrying out press reviews, producing publications for the public and maintaining a professional image of the MP.
- Project management and special initiatives: Participate in projects to improve office operations, manage requests for financial support and propose engagement strategies.
- Financial delegation : Analysing and processing sponsorship requests, ensuring compliance, drafting official responses and ensuring administrative follow-up.

Qualifications
Education:
- University degree in business administration or other field OR an acceptable combination of education, training and relevant experience.
Knowledge and skills:
- Knowledge of administrative methods, techniques and practices to make the office run as smoothly as possible;
- Oral and written communication skills in French, English is an asset.
- Tact, diplomacy, discretion and ability to build and maintain working relationships with internal and external clients;
- Ability to keep abreast of current events and headlines, report on them and anticipate their impact on the MP's work;
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook).
Experiences:
- Minimum of 5 years' experience supervising and/or managing staff and resources, with a commitment to providing quality customer service;
- Experience in public relations and managing multiple priorities, including meeting tight deadlines and working independently to effectively manage multiple and simultaneous projects in a high stress environment;
- Experience in researching and analysing complex issues and summarising information in a short space of time;
- Experience with social networks (Facebook, Instagram, X).
Asset:
- Strong interest in Canadian politics and awareness of current global issues.
