About The Client Our client is a leading resources company operating in the Northern Territory, known for its commitment to safety, sustainability, and operational excellence. The site supports mining, concentrator, and port operations with a strong emphasis on health and safety performance.

About The Role WorkPac are seeking a Safety Officer for a FIFO role from Cairns or Darwin. This position will support operational safety systems, provide coaching to stakeholders, and facilitate incident investigations. The successful candidate will contribute to a strong safety culture while supporting both routine operations and scheduled shutdowns.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor and support the implementation of health and safety systems and tools across site operations
  • Facilitate incident investigations (ICAM) and support development of SMART corrective actions
  • Provide coaching and training to line leaders and HSRs, promoting safety leadership at all levels
  • Assist with the preparation of safety documentation, reports, and committee meetings
  • Support shutdowns and outages with technical safety input
  • Drive continuous improvement and culture uplift through stakeholder engagement and data analysis

Skills And Experience Required

  • Cert IV in Safety or Occupational Health (minimum)
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in a safety-focused role within operational environments
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Confident in identifying risks, analysing data, and recommending improvements
  • ICAM investigation experience and participation in WRACs
  • C Class manual drivers licence
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment medical and drug & alcohol screen
