The Senior Classification Engineer is responsible for providing oversight of all classification society activities related to Appraisal in Principle and full Plan Approval. They will act as primary point of contact between the classification society, ISI technical teams, and the delivery teams for the design agent subcontractors. The Senior Classification Engineer provides technical and programmatic support for classification and certification working groups.

• Provide oversight for all classification society activities related to Plan Approval for the Canadian Surface Combatant

• Responsible for the maintenance and the delivery of future revisions of the CSC Tailoring Document

• Primary point of contact between the classification society, ISI technical teams, and the delivery teams for the design agent

• Responsible for ensuring that all documentation required for achieving Plan Approval is delivered to the classification society

• Provide technical and programmatic support for classification and certification working groups

• Provide support to developing Inspection and Test Plans to ensure compliance with Class Rules

• Manage and support path to closure for Plan Approval comments

• Provide vendor support for queries related to Class Rules

• Present metrics/progress reporting to Senior Management on Class activities

• Manage CSC Classification Objectives and monitor against progress

• Bachelor's degree in an Engineering discipline;

• Nova Scotia Professional Engineer (P.Eng) License or equivalent Professional Engineering License;

• PMP is considered an asset

• Minimum 8 years’ experience supporting Naval Shipbuilding Projects

• Experience in managing subcontracted design agent design activities and deliverables

• Experience with managing deliverables required to support naval ship classification and certification.

• Must be legally eligible to work in Canada and meet requirements for Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP) and Canadian Government Security clearance
