Description Scope of Position The Retail Lending Reporting Analyst is responsible for the completion and analysis of lending performance reporting for both Branch and Broker channels. This includes the preparation of regular and ad-hoc reporting covering retail lending production and related operational metrics. In addition, there will be analytics and forecasting requirements for specialized programs and initiatives, as well as gathering data used for regulatory reporting.
The position is cross functional by providing indirect support to other business units such as treasury, product and marketing through the reporting and related insights provided.
Major Responsibilities
- The position will create and maintain retail lending production and operational reports. with the use of various technology tools such as Cognos BI, Access, Microsoft Power BI and Excel;
- Manage capacity and workload of regular reporting requirements against competing priorities and deadlines;
- Provide insights, recognize trends, and investigate root causes as needed within the scope of the reports created and maintained
- Periodically validate the data being captured from various sources
- Work with cross-functional teams to achieve company and business unit initiatives;
- Maintain positive relationships with key internal and external stakeholders to drive best practices throughout the departments and organization;
- Analyze and interpret both quantitative and qualitative data with a view to enhance overall production and operational efficiency. Assist with forecasting models and providing key performance indicator results.
- Update dashboards, spreadsheet reports and written reports to present findings in clear, concise summaries; Highlighting performance measure such as monthly, quarterly, yearly, versus plan and year over year.
- Keep management well informed of activities and significant issues
- Assist with project research as necessary: this includes coordinating activities with colleagues, management etc.
- Provides operational support to other areas, as required.
Expectations / Outcomes
- Optimal management of complete, accurate, and timely Retail Lending performance reporting for the key metrics identified.
- Enhanced reporting to business unit leaders, Executive Leadership Management, and Board of Directors.
Qualifications Educations / Certifications / Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Mathematics, or Statistics – or equivalent work experience; and
- 1 year of experience in data analysis, preferably in a financial institution environment.
- Operational Retail Lending experience of at least 2 years.
Knowledge / Skills
- Excellent analytical skills, and the ability to develop processes and methodologies;
- Understanding of standard banking operations, including familiarity with banking systems, and financial products & services technologies;
- Proficiency in Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Adobe) and database software;
- Knowledge of Cognos Business Intelligence and Microsoft Power BI a significant asset;
- Understanding of market research and analysis techniques;
- Strong math skills and knowledge of statistics;
- Excellent written and oral communication skills;

- Self-driven with the ability to take initiative, work independently in an accurate manner, and with excellent attention to detail;
- Demonstrated ability to meet tight deadlines and changing priorities;
