Position Overview:

Based in the Toronto Studio, the Outerwear Designer will create, contribute to, and execute product design activities from initial seasonal concept to final product.

Highly creative, the Designer plays a key role in defining a modern and elevated silhouette that remains true to the brand’s core DNA—engaging our established audience while expanding its appeal to the global fashion luxury market.
The Designer has strong expertise in both fashion and performance, combining creative vision, technical craftsmanship, and innovative thinking to drive the design process forward.

In close collaboration with the Product Development, Materials & Innovation, and Merchandising teams, the Designer will manage a designated number of styles, ensuring the creation of a compelling luxury product assortment that meets high-quality standards and time-to-market objectives, satisfies market needs, and drives sales and global brand growth.

ABOUT THE ROLE

  • Design a strong, relevant, and cohesive seasonal concept under the direction of the Creative Director and Design Leadership team
  • Research and design a designated number of styles from concept to proto approval, managing up to the Design Director
  • Collaborate closely with the Archives department to ensure the brand’s DNA is authentically reinforced and reflected throughout the design process
  • Participate in exploratory styling sessions to research and define the seasonal silhouette aligned with the concept
  • Work closely with Merchandising partners to ensure all designs support business objectives
  • Lead sketch passes, fittings, and debriefs with the Development team to ensure that all design elements are executed with precision and coherence with the concept and brand strategy
  • Create and update technical packs as required for all designated styles
  • Enter and maintain accurate data and sketches in PLM
  • Integrate market trends and consumer feedback into the design process to ensure relevance and innovation in each collection
  • Collaborate with the Materials team to source and develop high-quality fabrics and trims aligned with the seasonal concept & long-term roadmap
  • Manage and drive calendar deliverables within the design and development process, ensuring deadlines are met and milestones achieved
  • Travel to vendors and attend trade shows as needed to lead product research and development
  • Mentor and develop Associate Designers and Interns
  • Perform all other duties as assigned by the manager

ABOUT YOU

  • Bachelor’s Degree (BA Hons or equivalent) in Fashion Design
  • 5+ years of experience in outerwear design
  • Experience leading projects from concept to execution
  • Demonstrated expertise in outerwear product construction, finishes, and embellishments
  • High level of expertise in fabrics and trims
  • Proven ability to take initiative to achieve departmental and corporate objectives
  • Excellent presentation skills for both concept and final product
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign
  • Prior experience with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems required
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience with 3D design software is a bonus
  • Strong sense of personal accountability and proactive thinking
  • Exceptional organizational and time-management skills
  • Experience presenting design and concept to a cross-functional audiences
  • Experience working in partnership with Merchandising and Product Development teams
  • Deep understanding of global fashion trends, consumer behaviour, and competitive landscape
  • Highly creative with the ability to innovate and introduce new design concepts while maintaining brand integrity
  • High level of professionalism and discretion when working with confidential information

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Office & Manufacturing environment / WFH hybrid
  • Travel required: up to 20%
