Stores Supervisor – Stores & Purchasing

Role Overview

This Stores Supervisor position is part of the Stores & Purchasing department and reports to the President & Unit Head of the Atholville Mill. The incumbent will provide an effective material management service for the site to ensure that all parts and items are received, inventoried, and issued to meet or exceed the mill’s objectives concerning maintenance activities and production standards. This position’s focus will be to effectively procure material for inventory, ensure that they meet or exceed internal quality and delivery expectations at low cost while ensuring favourable terms and conditions.

Responsibilities

  • Provide an effective material management service for the mill
  • Develop, implement, and improve a material management system to control and effectively manage inventory levels
  • Effectively procure material for inventory
  • Source suppliers of products and ensure suppliers meet internal expectations and requirements
  • Administer system contract pricing for inventoried parts to improve purchasing efficiency by reducing order lead time
  • Supervise a small team of employees
  • Ensure departmental health and safety compliance and promote/provide a safe workplace

Qualifications

  • 5 years of experience in a similar position in an industrial/manufacturing or mechanical maintenance setting is considered an asset
  • 2 years of post-secondary education in a related field
  • Supervisory experience is considered an asset
  • SAP experience is considered an asset
  • Advanced computer skills (MS Office)
  • Good organization and communication skills
  • High level of motivation, energy and able to cope with tight deadlines in a fast pace environment
