Summary

We are seeking a dedicated Residential Site Assistant to join our team at Kanvi Homes. In this role, you will support the home creation process, ensuring that every detail meets our high standards of quality and craftsmanship. Your contributions will play a vital role in helping us deliver exceptional homes that our clients can cherish.

Support to the Site Superintendent

• Assist with the daily supervision of trades and subcontractors.
• Help ensure work is progressing according to schedule and plans.
• Relay instructions or updates from the superintendent to on-site workers.

Site Organization and Housekeeping

• Keep the site clean, organized, and safe.
• Manage signage, fencing, walkways, and material storage to prevent hazards and improve workflow.
• Ensure tools and materials are returned and stored properly.

Logistics and Deliveries

• Receive and check deliveries, confirming quantities and reporting damaged or missing items.
• Help move or organize materials, tools, and equipment as needed.
• Communicate with suppliers or drivers for on-time deliveries.

Health and Safety

• with site safety inspections.
• Document and report incidents or near-misses.
• Assist in organizing and participating in toolbox talks or safety meetings. Support safety efforts by helping enforce PPE use, reporting hazards, and assisting

Documentation and Record Keeping

• Maintain site logs, visitor sign-ins, delivery records, and inspection checklists.
• Help take photos of work progress or issues for reporting.
• Support the collection of quality control documentation and material certificates.

Communication

• Act as a point of contact for trades and workers when the superintendent is unavailable.
• Communicate issues or updates from the site to supervisors or project managers.
• Assist with coordinating site meetings or walk-throughs.

Hands-On Tasks (skilled)

• Site carpentry tasks as required to keep progress on jobsites.
• Help set up temporary infrastructure like scaffolding, fencing, or signage.
• Additional site hands on tasks as required

Skills and Qualifications

• Understanding of construction processes and safety standards.
• Physically fit, comfortable working in a fast-paced, outdoor environment.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
• Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
• Requires a valid driver’s license and safety certifications an asset (e.g., WHMIS, First Aid, Working at Heights, depending on location).
• Carpentry and general ability to use tools as required around the construction site
• A passion for residential design and construction is preferred.
• Previous experience in construction or project management is an asset but not required.
