Description Empowering People – Extraordinary Performance Start Your Next Opportunity with IAMGOLD The ESG Reporting & Governance Lead will support the development and execution of the Company’s Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) reporting strategy, addressing both market-driven expectations and membership-based disclosure requirements. This role is responsible for the production of key ESG disclosures, including the annual Sustainability Report, Conflict-Free Gold Report, Responsible Gold Report, and other related reports, while coordinating third-party assurance processes. This position includes oversight for the maintenance and continual improvement of the Company’s sustainability reporting software.
The ESG Reporting & Governance Lead will also support the preparation of ESG-related content for regulatory filings, including the MD&A, Management Information Circular (MIC), and Annual Information Form (AIF). The ESG Reporting & Governance Lead will be responsible for overseeing the Company’s responses to ESG raters and rankers. The ESG Reporting & Governance Lead will lead monitor updates and trends related to emerging ESG reporting requirements. This role also involves collaborating with HSEC team members to prepare internal weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports for senior management.
In addition, the ESG Reporting & Governance Lead will support the Company’s sustainability governance framework, including regular updates to sustainability-related policies and alignment with evolving performance expectations such as the Consolidated Mining Standard. The ESG Reporting & Governance Lead will also support the Company’s human rights strategy, ensuring it is effectively embedded across the organization. The ESG Reporting & Governance Lead will work closely with operations, and cross-functional teams and senior management.
Job Qualifications What You Need to Succeed The ideal candidate will hold a post-secondary degree in environmental science, sustainability, business, or a related field, with experience in the mining sector considered a strong asset. They will bring demonstrated leadership experience and deep subject matter expertise in sustainability and climate-related issues, along with strong working knowledge of ESG reporting standards and frameworks such as the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), Sustainability Accounting Standards Board (SASB), Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD) and Canadian Sustainabilty Disclosure Standard (CSDS). Familiarity with ESG rating agencies is required. At least 8 years of relevant experience is preferred.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, written and verbal communication, and project management skills are essential. The successful candidate will have a proven ability to lead and collaborate across functions, and will be responsible for managing one direct report. Fluency in English is required, and proficiency in French is considered an asset.
