Job Summary

As a member of our Grooming Team, you are responsible for the safe and skilled operation of snow grooming equipment, including both free and winch grooming. Groomers are essential in delivering high-quality terrain while working overnight in mountain conditions. This role supports our mission—united by adventure, empowered by community—by helping shape a smooth, safe, and unforgettable guest experience.

Job Specifications

  • Wage: Based on experience
  • Schedule: Full-time (8–10 hours/day), including weekends and holidays
  • Skill Level: Experienced
  • Reports To: Grooming Lead Operator

Job Responsibilities

  • Operate snow grooming equipment safely and effectively, including winch and free grooming
  • Ensure consistent grooming quality across all designated terrain
  • Conduct thorough pre- and post-shift inspections and complete required documentation
  • Follow standard operational and maintenance procedures and protocols at all times
  • Secure all equipment at the end of each shift
  • Clear snow and hazards from lift terminals and facility areas
  • Work overnight hours as scheduled to avoid guest-facing operational times
  • Report all current and potential terrain hazards to Patrol each morning
  • Maintain professional radio communication as per company protocols
  • Assist mechanics with routine equipment maintenance as required
  • Provide cross-department support, including snow removal when needed
  • Maintain a clean and professional appearance
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Job Requirements

  • Previous grooming experience is required for this position (Level 1-5)
  • Familiarity with Prinoth and/or PistenBully machines is a requirement
  • Heavy equipment operating experience is considered an asset
  • Mountain operations experience is an asset
  • Strong decision-making and multitasking abilities, especially under pressure
  • Physically fit and able to shovel snow and lift up to 50 lbs
  • Able to work long periods outdoors in cold, alpine conditions
  • Must be available for night shifts, weekends, and holidays
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Reliable, team-oriented, and adaptable to changing priorities
  • Comfortable interacting with guests and staff of all ages
  • Strong time management and problem-solving abilities
