As part of the Corporate Controller’s Office and under the supervision of the worldwide Manager of Reporting and Consolidation, the Reporting Analyst’s role is to assist the team in ensuring the accuracy (including GAAP compliance) and timeliness of our Worldwide reporting both to management and to external parties.
Furthermore, the Reporting Analyst will leverage information gathered during the reporting process to identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency.
The Reporting Analyst will also play a pivotal role in 2022-23 in the ongoing implementation of ASC 842 for all companies in the Future Group worldwide which is critical to the Company’s ongoing compliance with U.S. GAAP.
The Reporting Analyst will be required to use the Company’s accounting and reporting software as well as excel to prepare schedules and perform analysis of a broad range of accounts in the context of both the consolidated group and stand-alone entities.
Responsibilities
• Implementation of ASC 842 for all companies in the Future Group worldwide which is critical to the Company’s ongoing compliance with U.S. GAAP.
• Assist in preparation of annual audited financial statements as well as auditor requests. Includes preparation of analysis of key accounts including foreign exchange and schedules supporting note disclosures.
• Detailed monthly analysis of compensation to validate management decisions and expectations.
• Prepare monthly activity summary of key SG&A accounts (comparing current & comparative reporting periods including consolidation on regional basis & calculation of impact of FX fluctuations) to confirm the efficiency of operations.
• Obtain & summarize detailed sales and GP data on monthly basis
• Perform monthly reconciliation of bank balances from GL to Treasury’s reporting system communicated to ownership.
• Intercompany settlement analysis to comply with corporate tax rules.
• Review A/R recs of all countries on WW basis released by risk management department.
• Quarterly Worldwide balance sheet review including compilation of template, identification of pertinent variances & follow up with local controllers to resolve and understand anomalies.
• Quarterly review of budgets/forecasts submitted by the regions and follow up with local accountants to resolve any anomalies identified. Upload of final budgets to Hyperion (reporting software) and consolidation of components.
• Quarterly review of stand-alone financial statements of affiliates & related parties including follow up with local accountants to resolve any anomalies identified.
• Prepare monthly analysis of foreign exchange by account.
• Monthly calculation of percentage of each for key accounts to facilitate analysis of FX impacts.
• Monthly consolidation checks: commissions fees, intercompany interest, intercompany purchases, dividends, intercompany loan balances, etc.
• Quarterly verification of valuation of monetary items
• Quarterly check of cash balances by account.
• Ad hoc projects. Implementation of new accounting subledgers such as the fixed assets & A/P modules to improve the efficiencies of the regional accounting operations. This role is also instrumental in the completion of the regional payroll ADP interfaces to PeopleSoft to consolidate the reporting of the worldwide compensation at corporate.
Qualifications and Experience
• Bachelor degree in Accountancy
• Professional accounting designation or working toward
• 3-4 years’ experience in finance related role
• Strong computer skills (excel)
