ROLE:

Ste Marie Studio is in search of an Associate who embodies inspiration and motivation, poised to lead and mentor our team to the highest level of design solutions. We are seeking an individual who, through their creative prowess, discipline, effective communication, and motivational skills, has attained
a high level of professional achievement.

ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Project and studio
    performance
    • Responsible for project health and schedule, creatively and strategically driving work towards billable milestones, within parameters set by management.
    • Enforces
      and develops internal procedures regarding presentation and drawing standards, document issuance, and time tracking.
  • Design Excellence
    • Drive the ideation and execution of remarkable design, grounded in conceptual innovation within deadlines.
    • Utilize creativity and technical expertise to craft functionally immersive and experiential spaces for clients.
    • Implement innovative design strategies and spearhead the development and documentation of design concepts, fostering proactive collaboration between the Studio and clients.
    • Oversee the technical execution of projects through
      accurate documentation.
  • Client Satisfaction:
    • Independently manage multiple projects and/or client accounts of various complexity, ensuring client satisfaction through delivery of premium quality design work.
    • Spearhead client engagements, analyzing goals, needs, and resources while managing client expectations.
  • Team Development and Management:
    • Evaluate team performance, guide improvements, and motivate team members to utilize their talents effectively.
    • Commit to continuous learning to enhance design capabilities and industry knowledge.

    • Support team members with one-on-one coaching sessions to unlock project potential and foster creative problem-solving.
    • Source and recruit new hires for the team proactively and efficiently.
    • Review employee timesheets, approve vacation requests, and conduct employee evaluations.
  • Business Strategy and Development:
    • Understand and champion key aspects of the studio's business model, developing methods to create project efficiencies and engage the client network.

    • Maximize billing potential and manage projects scope month-to-month, progressively raising targets to support the business growth strategy.

    • Support new business development, proposals, additional
      services requests, and client relations.

    • Act as a senior ambassador for the studio, representing its values and contributing to its reputation.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A minimum of 10+ years of professional experience in Interior Design, with a focus on Hospitality, Mixed-Use, and Multi-Residential design.

  • Completion of a certified Interior Design, Building Technology, or Architectural program from a professionally recognized institution.

  • Proven ability as a coaching leader; to guide, coach and support team members to produce exceptional high-quality designs, delegating tasks effectively, and matching responsibilities with team members' skills and capabilities.

  • Strong ability to foster a culture of collaboration, innovation and continuous improvement to inspire and empower their team members to achieve success collectively, often within tight deadlines.

  • Exceptional listening and communication skills to ensure stakeholders understand their roles, goals, and expectations while holding tension to accountabilities and project deadlines.

  • Proven ability to make well-informed decisions in a timely manner, working through conflicts as they arise in a timely manner.

  • Exceptional attention to detail and strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while overseeing supporting team members.

  • Outstanding presentation skills, with the ability to articulate design concepts effectively.

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp and Adobe Creative Suite with a strong understanding of drawing setup and coordination requirements for large-scale projects.

  • Proficient in Google Suite; experience with Enscape, Fohlio, and Revit considered an asset.

  • Excellent knowledge of building codes, bylaws, and demonstrated understanding of building technology, materials, specifications, and construction techniques.

  • Deep understanding of interior design detailing, construction, millwork joinery practices, and technical requirements for hospitality, mixed-use, and multi-residential design sectors.

  • Familiarity with design phases and deliverables, and ability to provide detailed documentation at each stage
