RESEARCH INSTITUTE OF THE MUHC
The Research Institute of the McGill University Health Centre (RI-MUHC) is a world-renowned biomedical and hospital research centre. Located in Montreal, Quebec, the Institute is the research arm of the McGill University Health Centre (MUHC) affiliated with the Faculty of Medicine at McGill University. The RI-MUHC is supported in part by the Fonds de recherche du Québec - Santé (FRQS).

Position summary
The prehabilitation program aims to prepare the surgical patients to overcome the stress of surgery. Under the supervision of the Principal Investigator, the incumbent will work closely with health care personnel (nursing, nutrition, physiotherapy) of the Prehabilitation Clinic in order to enhance the preoperative and postoperative functional capacity and accelerate the recovery process.

General Duties

  • Assess patients for eligibility through medical record review
  • Maintain, complete and update protocols and questionnaires,
  • Coordinate all aspects of data collection and source documentation as per OACIS, set up, if necessary, telephone calls with patients before and after surgery,
  • Complete patient charting accordingly in REDCap.
  • Coordinate protocol related consultations and tests: blood tests, imaging, strength and functional tests,
  • Maintain and update regularly the patients’ charts as needed,
  • Conduct other related tasks as assigned by supervisor,
  • Works closely with the clinical team and the administrative assistant on aspects of clinical data collection.

Education: Diploma of College Studies (DEC)
Field of Study: Biology, Science,

Other education considered an asset for this position: Bachelor’s degree

Work Experience: MUHC, Hospital,

Required Skills

  • Excellent French and English, spoken and written,
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills,
  • Ability to work independently or with teams with minimum supervision,
  • Good knowledge of Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel).

Additional information

Status: Temporary, part-time (30 hours/week)
Pay Scale: $24.40 to $45.29/hour Commensurate with education and experience

Work Shift: 6 hours /day
Work Site: MGH, 1650 Cedar Ave.
