We are excited to be recruiting for a full-time Housekeeping Supervisor for our beautiful hotel in Portage la Prairie, Microtel Inn & Suites by Wyndham.
This is a full-time position, and the hours will primarily be day shift and weekends, but some evening shifts may be required, depending on hotel business levels.
Microtel Inn & Suites, managed by Sparrow Hotels and owned by Long Plain First Nation, is situated on the Keeshkeemaquah Reserve near Portage La Prairie. This 75-room hotel features complimentary breakfast, a pool with a waterslide, a hot tub, and a fitness center. It also offers meeting space for up to 60 guests and houses Kookums Korner & Market. Guests can enjoy scenic views of Crescent Lake and are conveniently located near the Keesh Gaming Centre and the National Indigenous Residential School Museum of Canada.
The Housekeeping Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness, organization, and presentation in guest rooms and public areas. This role ensures that all housekeeping operations align with brand standards and guest expectations, fostering a welcoming and comfortable environment. The supervisor leads and supports the housekeeping team, monitors performance, conducts inspections, and implements quality control measures.
Duties:
· Opening and/or closing of the housekeeping department.
· Inspecting guest rooms, cleaning rooms and other duties when assigned.
· Coaches and trains new staff as needed.
· Supervises and inspects the work of the room attendants, ensuring the cleanliness, functionality, and attractive appearance of guest rooms and public spaces. Updates the front desk when rooms are clean, vacant, and ready for occupancy.
· Communicates all issues to appropriate individuals (including updating Executive Housekeeper on daily basis).
· Helps maintain an inventory of guest and housekeeping supplies and linen, ordering replacement of supplies and equipment as needed.
· Creates a service environment focused on the guest, with a passion for high standards in all work performed. Responds promptly to customer needs.
· Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner and develops alternative solutions. Reports needed repairs to maintenance.
· Ensures good safety practices of employees and guests throughout the hotel, assisting in the maintenance of proper emergency and security procedures.
What you bring to the table:
· At least 2 Years of Direct Housekeeping Supervisor experience
· Positive and hardworking attitude
· Ability to effectively communicate with team members
· Should be able to work in a team environment and individually
