Job Details:
Position Title: Security Systems Coordinator
Status: Full-Time Admin
Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Faculty/Department: Public Safety
Campus/Location: North Campus
Starting Salary: $84,958; starting salaries are determined based on qualifications and years of related experience

About the Public Safety Team at Humber:
Humber Polytechnic's Department of Public Safety is dedicated to maintaining a safe, secure, and welcoming environment across its campuses. Staffed by qualified security professionals, the team operates 24/7, ensuring students, faculty, staff, and visitors can move around campus with confidence and support.

About the Security Systems Coordinator Role:

Under the general direction of the Manager, Fire Safety and Security Systems, the Security Systems Coordinator is responsible for assisting with the administration, development, design and maintenance of the institutions physical security system platforms including: access control, CCTV, emergency phones, key control software and systems. The Security Systems Coordinator oversees the regular and ongoing maintenance of all system device endpoints, network video recorders as well as performs daily systems monitoring verifying the operational integrity of all systems.

Under the guidance and supervision from the Manager, the Security Systems Coordinator provides physical security system design recommendations for all capital projects and reviews and approves architectural design and construction drawings to ensure that Institutional standards, policies and industry best practices are followed and implemented.

The Security Systems Coordinator assists with confidential investigations assisting internal management stakeholders with surveillance video review, access control data etc. that may lead to employee or student disciplinary action. Further aids in the gathering of video evidence for Police criminal investigations.

The Security Systems Coordinator also provides direction to the Security Systems Technician and Junior Systems Technician.

Education

  • 3 Year Diploma/Degree in a relevant field of study
  • CPTED (Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design)
  • Lenel Master Certification (access control platform certification)
  • CCTV certification
  • Video Management Certification
  • Electronics Certification and knowledge

Experience/Skills

  • 5 years experience

  • PSP Certification (Physical Security Professional)

  • Master Key Certification and or knowledge (Medeco key systems)

  • Customer service certification

  • WHIMIS

  • Health and Safety Training
