Under the supervision of the Pre-Construction Manager, you will take full responsibility for one or more estimates while mastering the entire bidding process. You are capable of recommending and applying winning strategies. A strong understanding of the associated challenges and risks is essential.
What You Will Do
- Establish a preliminary work schedule, including the necessary resources for the site.
- Establish the list of specialties, materials, subcontractor·s and supplier·s likely to contribute to the success of your estimate.
- Perform the setup of the study in the estimating software, incorporating subcontracted tasks, self-performed tasks, work teams, work rates and ratios, quantities to be completed, etc.
- Analyze the project in detail to anticipate construction methods involving indirect costs.
- Conduct a complete analysis and select the prices of subcontractor·s and supplier·s.
- Participate in the bid closing as well as in the handover and site follow-up meetings.
- Supervise one or more estimator·s.
- Provide complete bids and master the entire bidding process.
This role could be for you if you have
- Hold a bachelor's degree or a technical diploma in engineering, or possess equivalent experience.
- Accumulate at least 10 years of relevant experience in estimating and/or project execution.
- Have solid knowledge in some or all of the following areas of expertise: building construction, electricity, piping, building and process mechanics, formwork, concreting, earthworks, drainage, and foundations.
- Master Autodesk Suite and Bid2Win (an asset).
- Demonstrate versatility, analytical thinking, and a desire to be involved long-term in an estimation team focused on results.
- Familiar with the Québec and Eastern Canada markets.
- Passionate about water treatment and industrial projects in general.
