JOB SUMMARY:
Reporting to the Director, Support Services, the Manager is responsible for planning, organizing and providing leadership for the daily operations within the overall Support Services portfolio, which includes, but is not limited to: Patient and Retail Food Services, Switchboard and Telecommunications, Departmental Scheduling and Patient Flow, Environmental Services, Linen and Patient Transportation at both campuses. The Manager liaises with all departments within the organization to ensure on-going exemplary service in all areas of responsibility with the major focus on patient safety and customer satisfaction.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provides leadership for the Environmental Services, Linen and Patient Transporting operations at both campuses, including the ongoing management of financials, staffing levels, and daily operations;
- Responsible for overseeing the operations of Environmental Services, Linen and Patient Transporting, including staffing, ensuring all policies and procedures are maintained;
- Provides direction for the effective use of the Capacity Management component of Cerner and ensures all departmental operations are adjusted to work effectively with the system;
- Provides leadership to Coordinators/Supervisors regarding scheduling practices, departmental rules, and ensures collective agreements are being followed;
- Responsible for maintaining the departmental absenteeism policy, including monitoring sick time and follow-up;
- Provides leadership and acts as the liaison for vendors, and actively participates in the RFP process;
- Provides leadership for Patient and Retail Food Services, Switchboard and Telecommunications, Departmental Scheduling and Patient flow in relation to Environmental and Patient Transporting services to ensure efficient high quality service delivery;
- Responsible for overseeing the operations of Patient and Retail Food Services, Switchboard and Telecommunications, Departmental Scheduling and Patient flow in relation to Environmental and Patient Transporting services, including staffing, ensuring all policies and procedures are maintained, contracts and complaints are dealt with effectively, managing service interruptions, downtimes, upgrades etc;
- Ensures appropriate corporate communication in timely manner;
- Adheres to continuous improvement methodologies in order to ensure departmental efficiencies that meet/surpass financial targets;
- Develops and monitors financial budgets for assigned service areas within the Support Services portfolio. Review discrepancies with Director and develop action plans accordingly;
- Ensures departmental policies and standard operating procedures are in place and up to date. Work with the Director to identify and create new policies/procedures;
- Ensures a commitment to standards of excellence and the concept of accountability through the development, maintenance and completion of departmental goals and objectives;
- Other duties as assigned.
SKILLS/ABILITES:
- Must be able to multi task and work in a fast paced environment;
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelors Degree in related field preferred

Minimum of 5 years relevant management experience in a complex healthcare environment preferred
-
Experience in managing a unionized workforce under multiple collective agreements would be an asset
-
Ability to communicate in the French Language would be an asset.

Windsor Regional Hospital is one of the largest hospitals in the Province of Ontario, serving a population of 400,000 people in Windsor and Essex County. Providing Acute Care Services with 650 plus beds and an operating budget of half of a billion dollars, Windsor Regional Hospital is one of the largest community based non-academic hospitals in the Province of Ontario.
