Your contribution! Reporting to the Vice-President – IT-OT, you will play a pivotal role to strengthen Innergex’ cybersecurity posture in overseeing day-to-day security operations, working closely with our external Security Operations Centre (SOC) to continuously assess, challenge, and optimize security use-cases. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with hands-on expertise in incident response, threat detection, and security technologies, driving operational excellence and continuous improvement.

Your day-to-day!

• Serve as the primary liaison between the organization and the external SOC, ensuring effective collaboration and seamless security operations.
• Review and refine existing security use-cases; design and implement new use-cases to enhance threat detection, response, and mitigation.
• Partner with internal security, IT, and OT teams to align security requirements with best practices and regulatory standards.
• Monitor, triage, and manage security alerts and incidents in coordination with the SOC to ensure timely resolution.
• Analyze SOC reports and performance metrics to identify trends, weaknesses, and opportunities for optimization.
• Ensure proper configuration, integration, and tuning of security tools and platforms (e.g., SIEM, EDR, IDS/IPS, firewalls).
• Stay current with emerging threats, adversarial tactics, and industry frameworks (e.g., MITRE ATT&CK, NIST, ISO 27001) to proactively adapt security operations.
• Recommend and support implementation of security automation and orchestration initiatives to enhance detection and response efficiency.
• Support security audits, compliance activities, and digital forensics investigations as required.

Your skills, our requirements!

• Minimum 5 years of experience in security operations, incident response, or SOC environments.
• Experience with scripting and automation tools (e.g., Python, PowerShell) is a plus.
• Relevant security certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CEH, GCIA, GCIH) are highly desirable.
• In-depth knowledge of core security technologies, including SIEM, EDR, IDS/IPS, firewalls, and threat intelligence tools.
• Proven hands-on experience in security monitoring, threat hunting, and incident management.
• Strong understanding of security frameworks and standards (MITRE ATT&CK, NIST, CIS Controls, ISO 27001).
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to constructively challenge and collaborate with external SOC partners.
• Skilled in analyzing logs, alerts, and reports to generate actionable security insights.
• Bilingualism (French and English, written and spoken) is required to ensure collaboration with different stakeholders outside of Québec on a regular basis.
