Position Summary:
South Country Co-op is hiring a motivated and customer-focused Pharmacy Assistant at our 13th Ave Pharmacy in Medicine Hat, Alberta . If you’re passionate about customer service and working in a fast-paced, fast-paced environment, this could be the opportunity for you!
Reporting to the Pharmacy Manager, the Pharmacy Assistant works under the direct supervision of the Pharmacist on Duty and is responsible for supporting pharmacy operations by performing technical duties such as prescription data entry, preliminary prescription filling, and assisting with customer service. This role requires a strong focus on detail, discretion, and excellent patient care. Duties performed are subject to the limitations defined by the Provincial Regulatory Body.
This position is well-suited for individuals who are highly organized, customer-focused, and capable of working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform prescription data entry and assist with the preliminary preparation of prescriptions
- Provide exceptional customer service to pharmacy patients and guests
- Provide exceptional customer service to pharmacy patients and guests
- Maintain a clean, professional, and organized work area
- Support pharmacists with inventory tasks and administrative functions
- Ensure compliance with regulatory guidelines and store procedures
- Adapt to changing customer volumes and workflow priorities
- Maintain patient confidentiality and high professional standards
- Educate customers on the benefits of membership in South Country Co-op
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Must be at least 15 years of age and completed Grade 9
- Previous pharmacy experience is an asset
- Proficient in data entry; Microsoft Office experience is a plus
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work well independently and as part of a team
- Able to respond effectively in a dynamic and changing environment
- High level of integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism
- Must be self-reliant, goal-oriented, and adaptable to new technology
- Ability to deal with people sensitively, tactfully, and professionally
Work Schedule:
This position requires Full Availability (Including weekdays, Evenings, Weekends and Holidays)
