About the role
Overview Under the direction of the production supervisor, the Production Operator I, is responsible to ensure the production line meets all requirements i.e. (SOP) Standard Operating Procedures, Health and Safety and (GMP) Good Manufacturing Practices. Ensure the line is operating effectively and efficiently at all times.
Will demonstrate promote and exemplify the Company’s Core Values in Safety, People, Quality/ Food Safety and Growth.
Responsibilities:
- At the beginning of each shift must conduct a record of safety check.
- Read production norm, BOM and responsible for set-up and running Equipment effectively, (Training will be provided regarding the Standard Operation Procedure (SOP).
- According to the norm, check the temperature of production for each rack.
- Adjust oven’s temperature to match the requirement.
- It is mandatory that oven operator follows all lock-out procedures, warning signs and ensure all safety guards are on the machine and working in good condition before start up and during the daily production.
- Record relationship data on the record sheet.
- At the end of the shift, the operator needs to shut down machine and put the parts into the sanitation room.
- Evaluation of hazards, verification and description of measures that should be taken to achieve a safe working environment in compliance with Health and Safety regulations and standards.
- Responsible to demonstrate capacity to work well with others in a results manner. Also, pursue continuous improvement in root cause problem-solving and meeting PDC’s objectives.
- Ensure daily adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Personal Protection Equipment (PPE), Standard Operating Procedures, product quality or safety.
- Effective implementation and adherence to company’s Food Safety and Quality Policies and Procedures including but not limited to SQF, HACCP and GMP to ensure food safety and quality of products manufactured.
- Participate in Lean Manufacturing/GPS (Guenther Productivity System) and continuous improvement activities.
- Equipment and process ownership to reduce variability and increase efficiency (Center Lining, Defect Handling, 5S)
- Participate in developing Standard Work/ Standard Work instructions.
- Ensure Process Stability to develop and engage to own your equipment and surrounding areas.
- Monitor the equipment, make adjustments and perform minor maintenance tasks on their machines to improve stability and continuously improve their systems.
- Act as a back up for Production Operator – II, as needed.
- Performs other duties as requested by Production Supervisor.
Requirements:
- Post-Secondary education in the food industry an asset.
- Experience in Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), HACCP environment and Health and Safety is an asset.
- Demonstrated strong problem-solving skills and work well with others.
- Must be able to meet the requirements of a HACCP certified meat plant
- Strong oral and written communication, explanation and interpersonal skills of the English language
- Must be able to work overtime in the busy season and be flexible to work the second shift if required
- Must be able to fill our production reports effectively and in a timely manner
- Must be result oriented and thrive in a fast pace demanding environment.

- Availability to work weekends is a requirement of the position

$12.00 - $22.00
