As cybersecurity threats continue to evolve, clients from all industries look to EY for trusted advice, so they can make informed decisions and protect their businesses. As a Senior Manager on our Cybersecurity consulting team, you will have access to and have a hand in building out our robust services, and advising clients on managing cybersecurity risk, enhancing maturity, and improving efficiency. You will belong to an internationally connected team of Managed Detection and Response, Security Operations, Cloud Security, DevSecOps, Digital Identity and Privacy specialists to help our clients with their most complex cybersecurity needs.

The opportunity

We currently have a career opportunity for a Cybersecurity Professional in our advisory team to lead in multiple client engagement teams and related activities. As a Senior Manager, you’ll be accountable for deliverable and engagement quality for cybersecurity client engagements as well as internal projects. An important part of your role will be to actively establish internal and external relationships in public and private sector.

You'll also identify potential business opportunities for EY within new and existing engagements and develop these as appropriate. In line with EY's commitment to quality, you'll confirm that work is of high quality and properly reviewed by your team.

Your key responsibilities:

As a leader, you'll drive cybersecurity and IT risk client engagements, develop and maintain long-term client relationships and networks, and generate and manage new business opportunities. You will lead, direct and grow teams of professionals with diverse skills and backgrounds.

Client Responsibilities

  • Consistently deliver quality client services. Monitor progress, manage risk, and ensure key stakeholders are kept informed about progress and expected outcomes. Stay abreast of current business and industry trends relevant to the client's business.
  • Establish relationships with client personnel at appropriate levels.
  • Demonstrate in-depth technical capabilities and professional knowledge, and ability to assimilate to new knowledge.
  • Remain current on new developments in consulting services capabilities and industry drivers and changes.
  • Demonstrate and apply a thorough understanding of complex information systems. Use knowledge of the current technology, cyber and industry trends to identify engagement and client service issues and communicate this information to the engagement team and client management through written correspondence and verbal presentations.

People Responsibilities

  • Contribute to people-related initiatives, including development, coaching, recruiting, training and retaining staff
  • Maintain an educational program to continually develop personal skills of staff
  • Serve as an internal authority and point of enforcement to ensure EY’s independence in course of cybersecurity advisory, where required

To qualify for the role, you must have

  • Demonstrated track record of success and client cybersecurity advisory relationships in a professional services organization.
  • Demonstrated consulting experience executing and leading a broad set of cybersecurity engagements with clients.
  • Knowledge and 7-10 years of hands-on experience with key components of cybersecurity consulting incl.:
    • Cyber Assessments and road-mapping,
    • network & infrastructure security,
    • cyber transformation,
    • threat detection,
    • incident response,
    • vulnerability management,
    • security governance,
    • risk and compliance,
    • security architecture,
    • data protection,
    • privacy,
    • security awareness,
    • cloud security
  • Deep experience with multiple common frameworks, standards and methodologies used in cybersecurity
  • Practical experience with conducting risk assessments and testing of controls
  • Excellent analytical skills and knowledge of data analytics methods
  • Possession of relevant cybersecurity certifications
  • Demonstrated team development leadership abilities
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, verbal, communication, and presentation skills

  • The salary range for this job in British Columbia is $144,000 to $216,000. Individual salaries within this range are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills and work location city.
