About the role
Position Overview
This position reports to the Sr. Director of Aquatics and is responsible to maintain a safe environment to our morning patrons. The ideal candidate will also promote a fun and strong leadership skills through instruction to all ages in a healthy aquatic environment and other of program delivery.
Duties
· Safeguard patrons using the facility.
· Early mornings and/or weekends required
· Act as a Team Lead when the Aquatics Director or Supervisor is not available.
· Act as a role model and coaching to inexperience staff.
· Ensure rules and regulations are enforced by all staff.
· Knowledge of emergency procedures and ability to initiate them when necessary.
· Knowledge of Aquatic policies and procedure manual
· Remain on duty as assigned until relieved by proper qualified staff.
· Conduct pool chemistry tests and report any problems to the Aquatics Director, and or maintenance immediately.
· Ensure all logs and checklist are completed and followed during each shift
· Responsible to ensure that the Pool Admissions Standards are met during every public swim.
· Teaching Swimming Lessons as scheduled
· Responsible to maintain all current certifications as a condition of employment. Recertification cards must be provided prior to expiry date.
· Help maintain a culture of cleanliness. Keeping our pool deck and program spaces clean and clutter free.
· Other duties as assigned.
Skills & Qualifications
· A criminal record check and vulnerable sector check are required as a condition of employment
· National Lifeguard Certification (NLS)
· Workplace Standard First Aid with CPR-C
· Able to work flexible hours and days
· Swim Instructor Certification
· Lifesaving Instructor certification is an asset
· Bilingualism an asset
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $37,500.00-$38,500.00 per year

- lifeguarding: 1 year (preferred)
