🔍 About the Role:

As Director of Business Development – Mining , you will lead the development and commercialization of XCMG’s advanced surface and underground mining equipment across the Canadian market. From forging OEM alliances to guiding product customization, this is a rare opportunity to shape the trajectory of a global brand in a new frontier.

You’ll serve as the strategic bridge between engineering, product, sales, and executive leadership — ensuring we deliver equipment that meets the highest standards in safety, performance, and compliance.

💼 Key Responsibilities:

🌍 Strategic Growth & Market Penetration

• Lead go-to-market strategy for mining equipment (surface & underground), including product positioning, pricing, and channel development.
• Identify market gaps and growth opportunities, forging high-value partnerships with operators, EPCs, and contractors.

🛠 Product Innovation & Customization

• Drive R&D and product localization initiatives tailored to Canadian mining regulations and operating conditions.
• Influence product design for underground loaders, LHDs, drilling rigs, bolters, and more.

📊 Business & Financial Leadership

• Define financial models, ROI metrics, and growth targets.
• Manage budgeting, forecasting, and long-term investment planning across the mining portfolio.

🤝 Relationship Building & Industry Influence

• Cultivate senior-level relationships across the mining ecosystem.
• Represent XCMG at industry conferences, trade shows, and technical panels as a thought leader.

✅ What You Bring:

• 8+ years of experience in OEM mining equipment sales or business development (underground and surface).
• Bachelor’s degree in Mining or Mechanical Engineering (or similar technical discipline).
• Proven success launching or scaling product lines in the mining sector.
• In-depth knowledge of underground mining technologies and regulations.
• Ability to lead cross-functional teams in dynamic, high-pressure environments.
• Familiarity with OEMs such as XCMG, Sandvik, Epiroc, or Caterpillar is a significant asset.
• Visionary mindset, unshakable grit, and the entrepreneurial fire to build something from nothing.
