About the Role
SI Canada’s Sector Lead will build the capacity and coherence of the social innovation sector by creating connections, advancing practice, and producing opportunities for learning. This role requires a blend of leadership and expertise, project management, creative engagement, and the ability to foster positive, collaborative relationships.
Key Responsibilities
Ecosystem Engagement - 50%
- (Co-)Design, steward and facilitate communities of practice and learning circles within and across sectors
- Develop, host and represent SI Canada at learning events, webinars and in-person convenings.
- Contribute to the organization's content strategy, producing written pieces and sharing insights, resources, and opportunities in the sector
- Stay abreast of emerging trends, approaches, and thinking in social innovation
- Foster inclusive and equitable communications and engagement opportunities
- Identify, connect and nurture relationships with key interest holders in the social innovation ecosystem
Project development, design and delivery - 40%
- Project development and management - develop, manage and execute program activities and completion of deliverables on-time and on-budget, with the support of the operations team and project staff
- Partnerships and stakeholder engagement - ensure team members, stakeholders and funders are informed and engaged
- Facilitation - facilitate convenings and learning sessions as appropriate
- Knowledge mobilization - create consistent messaging and high quality sharable content for the project and beyond
- Evaluation and learning - responsible for embedding program evaluation strategies in project activities, and distilling and sharing learnings for continuous improvement
Organisational learning and development - 10%
- When required, act as subject matter expert and advisor to senior leadership during strategic planning, business development, research, current program or business performance review
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to organisational learning and development
- Contribute to the development of the operational plan
Qualifications and Requirements

Minimum of ten (10) years of related experience in network development, program development, and/or knowledge mobilization strategies

Knowledge of social innovation practice and approaches, theories and concepts including systems thinking, human-centred design, mapping, prototyping, facilitation, and evaluation is an asset

Demonstrated ability to steward strong relationships with diverse stakeholders including government agencies and ministries, community organizations, academics, social innovation practitioners, non-profits and corporations

Proven track record in managing and delivering client-facing programs and projects at a high level
-
Gifted communicator, presenter and writer with the ability to distill complex concepts into plain language for diverse audiences

Competency in equitable and trauma-informed approaches to facilitation and stakeholder engagement
is an asset

Fluency in French and/or other languages is an asset
