Position Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Building Operator to maintain and ensure the efficient operation of our buildings. The Building Operator will be responsible for monitoring and maintaining building systems, performing regular inspections, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring compliance with safety standards. This role is essential to providing a safe, comfortable, and well-maintained environment for all occupants.

Key Responsibilities

Customer Service & Communication

  • Uphold and enhance the quality of customer service experiences.
  • Respond promptly and attentively to tenant requests.

Skills & Competencies

  • Exhibit strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
  • Proficiency in drywall repair and preparation.
  • Experience in interior commercial painting and drywall.
  • Basic plumbing and electrical skills.
  • Ability to install and repair appliances.
  • Capable of performing tasks such as snow removal, parkade clean-up, heavy garbage removal, moving and lifting heavy appliances, and similar duties.

Building Maintenance & Operations

  • Perform routine maintenance tasks and improvements in common areas.
  • Experience with HVAC and Building Automation Systems.
  • General knowledge of boilers, cooling towers, pumps, and closed-loop systems (hot water, glycol, cooling water).
  • Familiarity with fire protection systems.
  • Understanding of emergency generator operations.

Qualifications

  • Valid 4th Class Power Engineers Certificate
  • 2+ years of experience in building maintenance, preferably with residential properties.
  • Availability to work after hours, on-call on a rotational schedule, including weekends, and respond to emergency calls.
  • Possess a valid driver’s license and have access to a reliable vehicle.
