This specific role is working with complex senior care needs persons. The site location is Edmonton. Preference will be given to applicants with leadership experience training and experience working with our aging population, neurodiversity and or developmental disabilities.
In your role you will:
- Connect with and develop helping relationships with individuals with disabilities.
- Act as a strong advocate for individuals in the community.
- Work effectively as a team with the individual and their support team to help achieve their goals.
- Program creation, implementation and evaluation.
- Oversee and coordinate all aspects of case management; including support plan development and implementation.
- Completion of daily documentation.
- Support and participate in recreation and leisure activities.
- Perform administrative and cleaning duties relating to the operation of the home.
- Staff supervision, scheduling, evaluations and training.
- Participate in on-going program development
- Communication with other pertinent professionals
- Some personal care as required
- Transfer belt training as required
Training & Clearances
- Diploma or higher in the human services field (two or more year program from an accredited college or university in Canada)
- Security Clearance Check including the Vulnerable Sector Search (within the last 6 months)
- Children Services Intervention Record Check (within the last 6 months)
- Standard First Aid with CPR
- Suicide Awareness or Suicide Intervention training
- Cultural Awareness training
- Medication Administration training
- Valid Alberta Class 5 driver’s license with 3 years driving experience in Canada
- Driver’s abstract (within the last 6 months)
- Auto Insurance, including $2 million third party liability coverage
- Strong communication skills is required
Required experience:
- 2 or more years of leadership experience
- Neurodiversity training or experience
- Mental Health training or experience
- Computer skills
- Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel
- Directly supporting individuals with disabilities
- Strong sense of self-awareness and co-regulation skills
- Therapeutic Crisis Intervention would be an asset
- CARE training would be an asset
- Experience working in a residential setting is an asset
- Health Care Aid certificate or higher from Canada
