About the role

Business Analyst – Two-Year Contract

The Registered Insurance Brokers of Ontario (RIBO) is the provincial regulator for property and casualty insurance brokers in Ontario. Our primary mission is to protect the public in their interactions with insurance brokers.

We are looking for a full-time Business Analyst on a two-year contact with potential for an extension or full-time conversion.

Primary Responsibilities

We are looking for a detail-obsessed Business Analyst to join our team on a two-year contract. In this role, you will work closely with business and technical stakeholders to analyze, validate, document, and communicate requirements that drive technology initiatives. Your sharp eye for inconsistencies, ability to reconcile business needs with project objectives, and light-touch project management skills will help ensure nothing gets missed—and nothing gets delayed.

You will be responsible for bridging the gap between business and IT, helping ensure that requirements are delivered and documented clearly, accurately, and on time. If you enjoy making sense of complex business needs, thrive on bringing clarity to chaos, and love ensuring the right things get built the right way, this role is for you.

The Job Might Be for You If You

  • Are extremely detail-oriented and can spot gaps, inconsistencies, or contradictions in business requirements and documentation
  • You’re known for your organizational skills, and you proactively chase down missing pieces before they become problems
  • Can think like a project manager, helping to track requirement deliverables and timelines, ensuring alignment across teams
  • Are an effective communicator, both written and verbal, and can distill complex business needs into clear documentation
  • Are comfortable collaborating across business and technical teams, acting as a translator between stakeholders and developers
  • Bring a solution-focused mindset, always looking for practical paths forward when issues arise
  • Care deeply about getting things right the first time, and your work reflects that commitment.

Essential Qualifications, Experience and Skills

  • 3+ years of experience working on technology projects, ideally involving cross-functional teams and stakeholder coordination
  • 3+ years of experience with the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) — you understand how requirements flow through design, development, testing, and deployment
  • Proven ability to analyze and translate business needs into clear, concise requirements and documentation
  • Experience working with project timelines, and tracking or supporting delivery schedules and milestones
  • Ability to ensure reconciliation of requirements to success criteria.

Additional Assets (Nice to Have)

  • Experience with Software or Technology in a Quality Assurance and / or Testing Capacity
  • Experience working on AI or Automation-related projects
  • Some project management experience or background supporting project delivery
  • Familiarity with tools like Microsoft Planner, Microsoft Loop, SharePoint, JIRA, Confluence, Azure DevOps, or similar platforms for tracking tasks and requirements
  • Exposure to Agile, hybrid or other project methodologies.
