Regional Office Supervisor

This position reports to the General Manager – North Region
General Accountabilities
•Manage all functions associated with running a Regional office, including supervision of both direct and indirect reporting personnel.
•Perform administrative services and activities such as budget processing, statistical processing and presentation, records set-up and maintenance.
•Provide advice and guidance to all Regional staff on administrative procedures.
•Strict confidentiality is required in many circumstances due to the sensitive nature of the specific issues involved.
Selection Criteria
•Requires experience with operational administrative processes.
•Exposure to various electrical inspection activities and procedures within the company to understand the implications of changes to administrative procedures.
•Experience with budget planning, preparation, submission, reporting and forecasting. These activities focus on processing all the requirements involved in budget preparation, variance explanations and the procedures, practices and regulations associated with the budget system.
•Familiarity with statistical reporting systems.
•Experience in the setup and maintenance of records.
•Experience to understand the company’s communications needs, office equipment, and the administrative requirements for company vehicles.
•Experience to understand marketing requirements and providers.
•Requires experience supervising staff in a unionized environment.
•Ability to manage all aspects of a regional office, as well as coordinating the needs of the General Manager.
•Requires excellent communication skills, both verbally and written.
•Requires experience in negotiating contracts and arranging meetings with numerous staff/external personnel including hotel/lodging, presenters, material/handouts, food and all other associated needs.
•Requires the ability to be extremely organized and meet tight timelines and quick turnarounds while handling the unpredictable.
•Project Management skills are essential.
Qualifications
•Requires knowledge of business mathematics and statistics as they relate to cost reporting and budgeting process when extracting or summarizing data, performing calculations or preparing tables and graphs.
•Requires an understanding of business and office principles to assimilate data, maintain records and to handle details associated with office operations.
•Requires knowledge of HR fundamentals to be able to respond to collective agreement queries.
•Requires knowledge of various business software packages for the purposes of extracting and analyzing data for forecasting, planning, identifying and mitigating unplanned variances.
•Requires the ability to provide business operations analysis for financial performance and measure results against expectations.
•A period of up to four years is considered necessary to gain this experience. This knowledge is normally acquired either through the successful completion of Grade XII in a Secondary, Commercial or Technical School plus short, specialized courses or by having the equivalent level of education.
