To be eligible, candidates must:
- be between 15 and 30 years of age at the beginning of the employment period*
- be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the employment** and
- have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations
*The successful candidate must be 15 years of age at the beginning of the employment period. The successful candidate may be more than 30 years of age at the end of the employment period as long as they were 30 at the beginning of the employment period.
**International students are not eligible participants. As the objective of the CSJ program is to support youth entering the Canadian labour market, the temporary nature of an international student's time in Canada does not allow for a long-term connection to the labour market.
International students include anyone who is temporarily in Canada for studies and who is not a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person who has been granted refugee status in Canada. Youth awaiting a refugee status ruling, as well as those who hold a temporary visitor visa, youth visa or work visa are ineligible.
Position Summary
Reporting to the Legislative Coordinator & Executive Assistant, the Administrative Assistant provides a variety of coordination and support functions to ensure effective and efficient operations throughout the organization. This role works collaboratively with all supervisors and employees and provides back-up support to the rest of the Administrative team.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Prepare, key in, edit, and proofread correspondence, invoices, presentations, brochures, publications, reports, and related material from machine dictation and handwritten copy
- Answer telephone and electronic enquiries and relay telephone calls and messages
- Set up and maintain manual and computerized filing systems
- Record and prepare minutes of meetings
- May compile data, statistics, and other information to support research activities
- May supervise and train office staff in procedures and in use of current software
- Open and distribute incoming regular and electronic mail and other material and coordinate the flow of information internally and with other departments and organizations
- Order office supplies and maintain inventory
- Greet visitors, ascertain nature of business and direct visitors to employer or appropriate person
- Provide information to customers and the public concerning goods, services, schedules, rates, regulations, and policies in response to telephone and in-person enquiries
- Support all departments with other administrative or clerical duties as assigned
Education/Training/Skills Required
- Ability to take initiative, be self-motivated, and work collaboratively.
- High-level of personal integrity and strong adherence to code of ethics.
- Ability to develop and maintain effective relationships.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Must be well-organized with and have a high-level of attention to detail.
- Ability to interpret, implement, and adhere to organizational policies and procedures.
- Willingness to attend training as requested to grow and develop skills.
- Strong computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to learn and adapt to changing work conditions within a deadline-oriented environment.
- Satisfactory Police Information Check (will only be required by the successful candidate as a condition of the offer of employment)
Working Conditions
- Office environment, Lethbridge Administration building.
- Must be available for core business hours, Monday – Friday from 8:30am to 4:30pm
- This position may be privy to confidential and sensitive information.
Job Types: Full-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 2 months
Pay: $19.00 per hour
Expected hours: 35 per week
Schedule:
- Day shift
- Monday to Friday

The County is served by two irrigation districts providing a stable water supply and recreational opportunities. The economy is primarily agricultural, including 500 km² area of intensive livestock operations. The County is also an important centre for research, particularly as it relates to crop production, land use and animal husbandry.
There are many recreational opportunities in the County's lakes, campgrounds, golf courses, and other attractions.
