Take your culinary career to the next level! Aramark is hiring a Lead Cook for a private school near Georgetown, ON. This is mainly a Monday-Friday afternoon between 10:30am – 6:30pm shift preparing quality dishes from scratch using only the finest ingredients. Meals are prepared and served onsite to students and faculty members. There are some requirements to work occasional mornings or weekends for special events. This school is situated on beautiful acreage and is a tranquil setting.
Job Responsibilities
• Schedules and assigns daily tasks to other staff and supervises until completion
• Works with Chef/Manager to create menu’s & snack programs
• Receives, temp’s, labels and stores supplier product
• Sets up workstation with required ingredients and equipment
• Prepares ingredients by measuring, weighing, mixing, chopping, trimming, peeling, etc.
• Bakes, roasts, broils, steams, and uses various cooking methods on meats, vegetables, etc.
• Arranges, garnishes and portions food following established guidelines at the operation
• Develops and maintains positive client and customer rapport for mutually beneficial business relationships
• Follows all applicable policies, rules, and regulations, including but not limited to those relating to safety, health, wages, and hours

Qualifications
• 2-4 years minimum culinary experience
• Post-secondary degree or diploma in hospitality or culinary arts is preferred
• Demonstrated knowledge and ability to create high quality dishes from recipes, ingredients, new menu
• Attention to detail of food service preparation and presentation to meet and exceed client expectations
• Attention to garnishes and toppings to further enhance meal flavours, and presentation
• Knowledge of dietary restrictions, intolerances, and nutritional balance
• Knowledge and experience preparing various international dishes; baking skills are an asset
• Good communication, organization and interpersonal skills to develop and maintain positive working relationships with staff, management and the Client.
